Hi guys,

Well, after being away for like 2 years, I decided to start painting a few weeks ago. Main reason was not going to the US on holiday 'cause my dad got a new hip:chrome: So I'm stuck at home, helping around. Great opportunity to get some painting done, right:P

I visited the GW store yesterday and heard there's a painting comp every first saturday of the month. Next one is September 6. It wil be an open competition. Not quite sure what to enter, but I've got a few options:

1. ratling squad: 3 done, 2 PIP, gonna make a simple scenic display base

2. macharius with vulcan mega bolter turret: assembled, some gaps filled. Obviously it needs a lot of work done

3. Imperial Fist Vet: the Pedro Kantor model, other helmet and banner. Being assembled now, also started working on a display base for him.

Anyhow, I think I'll be going for option 1 and 3. My goal will be to get a bit of painting done every week and enter in the comp every month. I don't know if I'll succeed (final year at school, selection for aviation school, etc), but that's not for now.

Comments welcome and thanks for reading,

Like the Ratling, they have a good rugged look to them, like they've properly seen some action!

Interest in the Pedro conversion. The head swap and banner make him look quite different. Good work!

As you can see I've been working on a display base for the ratlings. Haven't done very much other than that.. The base is built from scratch using cardboard, balsa wood rods, plasticard and a lot of spare bases. I've got some IG bits (jerrycans, ammo, lasguns, crates) to put under the roof. Also thinking of putting an heavy weapon autocannen under the roof. Plans are to use bandage to make camouflage stuff.

C&C welcome
