Is this possible? Seeming that together they would have a combined unit strength of 6.

Or do you need one single unit to have unit strength of 5 or greater in order to negate?

I didn't find this in the eratas I've read.

tnx

Must be 1 UNit with a US of 5+. Can't combine units.

Hi

This is not possible:

YOu must have a unit of at least US 5 to negate ranks.

Monsters can not join to form units (only characters can join units, and then only certain types of characters and certain types of units).

So even 3,4, or 263,573 eagles cannot negate ranks.

Same goes with any unit of flyers because units of flyers are always skirmishers with an individual unit strength of 1. Even with a unit of 5, skirmishers can't cancel ranks.

High Elves trying to cancel ranks can do it with a prince mounted on a chariot, griffon or dragon. Fast cavalry are *FANTASTIC* for cancelling ranks and Ellyrian Reavers have an 18" march so they're what you really want to use for such a thing.

Not all of those have US1 (Pegasi), but they still all are skirmishers...

Aren't pegasi considered monster mounts? That would explain why - if they are.

Festus is referring to the bret. Pegasus Knights in his post, not the Pegasus a hero can buy as a mount. :)

-Pegasus Knights have US2 (flying cav) and follow the rules for units of flyers
-a 'hero Pegasus' has US3 and follows the rules for monster mounts

US1 per base. It's a unit of flyers after all.

Yeah, you're never going to over power an enemy with little flying pretties.

Nah, but you can easily tar-pit 'em until the Vamp and the Skellies arrive :)
