Does the icon of Despair affect stubborn units? Would they be stubborn for breaktests and use their own unmodified leadership? Or would they be stubborn with the -2 but no other combat resolution affecting them?

Stubborn basically means that their LD is not effected by combat rez, though other modifiers such as that banner or doom and darkness, etc.. will effect their LD.

Stubborn units only ignore break test modifiers. The wording is a bit weird in the book though, but the part that can't be argued is that they ignore break test modifiers.

Yeah thats what I thought. Its the line that says something like "always takes break tests on unmodified leadership" that makes it seem like nothing would affect their leadership when taking tests.

Actually it says they always use the leadership on their profiles. Which is kind of redundant to say as they always use the leadership on their profile anyways.

Unless it means they can't use the generals leadership, but that's just getting worse and worse.

-Leadership stuff alters the profile, thus they use the lowered value.
