What is the unit strenght of a nurgle herald on palanquin?

It's a cavalry mount.
Page 42 of the Daemon Armybook.

So 2.

Despite being mounted on a 50mm x 50mm base, the Palanquin of Nurgle (along with the Juggernaut of Khorne and the Disc of Tzeentch) is considered a cavalry mount. This is clearly mentionned in both the DoC and WoC armybooks.

Hence, the total US is 2 (rider + normal mount, just like any 'standard' knight).

hence it can be eaten by a giant.

It's not really that the giant picks up the whole model, mount and all and tries to eat it/shove down pants (nurgling horde in pants? Giant's version of crabs) he just goes after the rider. I'd hate to see a giant try to 'eadbutt a dwarf lord on shield bearers...

the giant does not roll on the 'big target' list for the dwarf lord on shield. it is after all still a human sized/cavalry model. only ogre sized and bigger go on the 'big target' list. juggers and the like are not 'bigger' anymore as they are now cavalry.

Man-sized model has been errata'd to "US<3" though (see BRB FAQ 1)

Milgram - Ogre sized infnatry is US3, therefore the Dwarf lord is hit as a big 'un ;)

big 'uns are US1 - unless they are boarboys ;)

Bah! although surely even properly big big uns would be little uns to a giant....
