Forgive the typo in the title. Intentional.

I'm addicted to living my life online.

However, whilst I'm at it, might as well make stuff.

Learned some basic 3D design on this, it's not great. Meltagun built entirely in Second Life, textures done in Photoshop. Yes, it's Southpaw.Yes, it's not great. Yes, I'm actually quite proud of it.

If anyone's on SL, I'm giving them out free (because if I make people pay I could get in trouble, I imagine). Just post yer SL name in here.

Looks pretty good, actually. :)

No idea what Second Life is though.

Don't go on there, seriously. It'll drag you in.

What dimensions are you using for your texture map? It looks a bit blurry. I'd suggest maybe a drop shadow and/or some weathering to the barrel. The blue/white I assume is a display. You may want to "panelize" it.

If you post the map here, I can show you some stuff to make it "pop" a bit more.

I'll ask to: What's Second Life? ;)
I use 3DS Max and have been having a time of it getting into Maya due to the difference in interface. Chalk it up to some mental resistance.

Good to see some 3D stuff going on here btw
