Hey all,

Not sure if this is the right place to post but here goes. Pretty excited as I'm posting a blog like this for the first time today but I thought I'd share my current project with you guys - completing my first fully painted army - Dwarfs.

Bear in mind, I've been playing WHFB for ages but quite ashamedly have never fielded a fully painted army. I'm determined to get this rectified hence this thread.

I have developed a pretty 'rough' painting style based off a simple colour palette that uses two complimentary colours - Hawk Turquoise and Macharius Solar Orange, and a third neutral tone - Dheneb Stone. Core choices are given a Turquoise trim with Orange shields whilst the Special choices invert this. Details and Armour are picked out in Mithril Silver and Scorched Brown. When all first stage colours are done, the model is washed completely in Badab Black, and colours are reapplied. The overall effect is nice, as the models look grimy and battle-worn rather than bright and snappy.

The army is pretty much WYSIWYG with some little flourishes that personalise it here and there, for example the Longbeards all have greying long beards and wear cloaks, whereas the younger Warriors don't. Likewise the elite Hammerers are completely converted and wear shields on their backs.

I'll put some more detailed and individual pictures up in a bit but I'll give you a taster with these. Bonus points/cookies/rep if you can tell me what runes are on the Longbeard's and the BSB's Banner If you have any other questions or queries, please ask!

Well, first of all: http://www.warseer.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=100 would have been the right forum. Im sure it will be moved there in due time ^^

And second: Your dwarfs look great.
A nice color scheme, and very clean as far as I could see :)

Keep it up, for some reason I really like Dwarf plogs.

Love the Hammerer conversion. Your color scheme looks really nice, too. Almost makes me want to rework some of my own troops.

Looking neat.
Too bad the pictures are a bit blurry.

I've always liked the Dwarf models a lot (not as much as O&G, though), and I think your paint job really does the army justice; just work on your camera skills.

Could we get a better picture of your Slayers? they're kind of blurry and cut off in the one with them featured
