My gaming group has 1 box of Space Hulk, we are to distribute the models and each of us paint a number of models.

I got dips on the Sergeant with Powersword, Librarian and the dead Terminator on throne. So here's my go on them.

Blood Angels Sergeant
Beautful model with loads of details, I had a fun time painting this badboy

Dead Terminator on Throne
Ah my first go on a different method of paint chipping, this is done by painting a dark mix of Scorched Brown and Chaos Black, dab a bit on the edges of the armor draw some streak lines and so on. Next is a highlight of Blazing Orange to pop out the chippings.

For scale comparision they are pretty much the same, they have more cool 'bling' on them and dynamic poses but overall they tie up nicely with the normal termies.

Here's a pic.

Here is the Librarian a.k.a Mephiston. He is much harder though, especially the freehand on the shoulderpad.I did my best.

Oh that freehand is great!
I really like it - and the other two looks great too.

You already make me want to stick my Space Hulk box under the
bed. Outstanding. Dare I say, even better then the ones being
used by GW.

I haven't been into this hobby more than 5 days and I am already intimidated about how well people can paint these things, amazingly done.

Outstanding work indeed. Seems a bit silly to pick out one part of it, but I love the chipping/weathering effect particularly.

Using scorched brown/chaos black for the chipping is a great idea. It makes the effect a lot more subtle than boltgun metal/chainmail, which works much better for space marines armour.
Adding that one to my recipe book, thanks for sharing the technique :)

Thanks everyone. :) This weekend I will be picking up a couple of the Space Hulk's genestealers to paint. I won't be painting the Broodlord, one of my mates is.

Hmm I am willing to share anything with you guys, just let me know. I will be doing some tutorials, just don't have the time at the moment with commissions.

Wow those terminators look amazing. I just landed my copy of hulk today and I can't wait to start painting. I'm also ears deep in working on a 3-d board and project log. I hope my stuff looks even a 1/4 as good as you paint job, the weatehring is simply amazing.

Out of interest with all the hype about different plastic's being used in SH, did you find the primer/paint took alright?

how did you to the blue on the armour?

Blue is pretty easy.

-Basecoat of Regal Blue + Chaos Black
-Light brush of Regal Blue on the armor
-A highlight of Enchanted Blue
-Another highlight of Enchanted Blue + Ice Blue
-Highlight of Ice Blue + Skull White
-Final highlight of Skull White at the edge of the armor.

Really nice job MrChaos, they are great models and your paintjobs are fantastic. The highlighting on both blue and red is very nice, and I think I need to be a bit bolder when trying this. I probably don't use enough of a contract on highlights so you've given me an idea there.

Those models look awesome Mr. Chaos! To bad you won't be painting all of them. Any chance of any pictures of all the painted models?
