I agree, give us more to go on. Give us their fluff. Planet name, number of "recruitment" (My own is the Bearbane First).
What models are you using? what unit types/playstyle do you use. Something.

just think of a wierd sounding name that sort of suits the 40k universe, i named mine the 63rd vorkaden, and that just popped into my head one day, they are also known as the vorkaden "purples" due to the predominantly purple colour scheme;)

I wonder how long this threads going to last before the spam abuse goes to far?

Anyway. How about the 88th Slurping Ticklepests.

You really can't give a serious answer without knowing some info about the guard army in question.

Agreed. Planet name, which regiment number they are formed into, and a bit of fluff (history) would be really helpful.

The 37th Cadian "Nameless."
42nd Catachan "Unproven."
Wow, just realized what a dumb looking word name is.

95th Korskadia Grenadiers
The Fifty-Fifth Most Glorious Regiment of Elraediax in the Service of the Immortal Emperor of Mankind

I don't know. You should give us at least a vague idea of how your planned Guard force is going to operate. Mechanized? On foot? Favorite heavy/special weapons? Conscripts? Storm troopers?

I think they should be called the DILLIGAF'ers for "Does It Look Like I Give A F'ers"

Lead by the famous

Col. BOHICA for "Bend Over Here I Come Again"...

God, I've wanted to name my marines that for years never could come up with a good chapter symbol.

I would draw you one, but I would probably get banned again.

873rd Cadian Regiment. The "Expendables".

To give a bit more serious advice;

In naming a guard army, you'll want to consider a few things.

Firstly, what's their homeworld called? Where do they come from? What 'type' of world is it? Whats their society, social structure, political hiearchy, technology level, main tithed export? You've gotta think about where these guys come from - is their homeworld a feudalistic agri-world ruled by a warrior-aristocracy? Is it a heavily industrialised hive-world where hive-gangers constantly fight over resources? Is it a death world inhabited by primitive scalp-taking barbarians?

Once you've thought about that, then you'll then be able to get a clearer picture in your mind of what your guard regiment is like.

Then you'll want to think about what kind of uniforms, equipment and fighting style they use. When coupled with their homeworld background you can get a better idea of what their regimental nick-name or title can be (since guard regiments tend to follow the format of planet name and regiment number and a 'nickname'), for example the Tanith 1st 'Ghosts' - the one and only regiment raised on tanith before its destruction who specialise in stealth - thus Ghosts is an appropriate nickname, they are themselves the ghosts of a dead world, while also their fighting style lends itself to the 'ghost' image, their presence not being seen by the enemy but certainly being felt.

Once you have a think about that, it'll be easier to think of a name for your guard and easier for us to help you.

The Toffees. ;)

I wouldn't do that. They'd get beaten to a pulp every time they played against someone with guns :p

Let's assume it's an elite regiment.

What's their headgear called and what colour is it?

there from Voladum suprisinly and are a mixed force, with a bit of mechinised, air support, artillary, armour and footsloggers. there armour is gray with US military desert style overalls, so there camo could be anything

As anyone who's seen Starship Troopers will tell you, "The Roughnecks" is a cool name.

Any further spam replies on this thread and I'll be doing something a bit more that deleting posts. You have been warned!

@GOD LFC - you're going to have to give people a bit more to go on to get some serious answers. The type of IG army they are , airborne, elite, mechanised, tank, infantry? Models being used Catachan/Cadian/others.
