i'm trying to build a custom Space Crusade set and i want to put the miniatures on scenic bases. i've seen some plastic, pre-formed bases with industrial style decoration on them, but now i can't seem to find them anywhere. perhaps foolishly, i didn't save the site to my bookmarks. has anyone else seen these bases? can anyone point me in the right directions?

Foundations Of War are pretty good, they're resin tho.

I can second that these look nice and are pretty cheap.

Are you thinking of these plastic bases? http://www.champindustries.net/bases.html
They're certainly perfect for Space Crusade

These are exactly the same as in my link, just from the original producer and much cheaper ;)

For a custom Space Crusade set, wouldn't square bases be better? cuts down on the ooportunity for facing issues.

True. (The same could be said for the new space Hulk - I can see a lot of arguments from newbies re which way some figures are 'facing'...) But I haven't heard of anyone making techy _square_ bases. :(

PS my http://www.champindustries.net/bases.html bases just arrived, they're excellent, the only downside is that there are only 4 varieties. Of course they'll mostly be covered by feet :), but a little simple conversion/painting work is needed to stop them all looking the same.

A simple designator on the side of the base (I'm thinking a crux would look good for the Space Hulk Terminators) is a nice way to denote facing on round bases.

you could also say that their heads are looking towards their facing.
