I've noticed that the mark of slannesh doesn't grant the unit immune to psychology but does grant the unit immunity to fear, terror and panic, which are the attributes that make a unit immune to psychology. I was wondering why gw decided not to make them immune to psychology and the only conclusion that Ive come up with is that gw still wanted a unit with MoS to be able to choose flee as a charge reaction. does anybody agree with this?

Yeah, that's pretty clearly the reason. Fleeing is basically the most important tactic to understand in competitive warhammer, and GW wanted slaaneshi armies to be just as tactical as most other lists.

Added to that there are many things that don't work against Immune to Psychology but do work against the Mark of Slaanesh.

For example, Doom and Darkness would still affect models with the MoS. Prety sure there are other spells, including spells in the Lore of Slaanesh, that won't work against models Immune to Psychology.

yeah fast cav that couldn't flee would lose a lot of their strategic use.

I am sure the Tomb Kings players can say more on the strategic importance of fast cavalry.

Something along the lines of "Don't buy them when they can't march"?

I think you'll find that every competitive TK build includes at least 1 or 2 units of fast cavalry. At least.

The last big tournament I went to had 3 TK players, 2 of which had horsemen units, and 1 didn't, and it was the 1 without that won the whole event ;)

I bet he still had fast cavalry though.

What part of "doesnt have horsemen units" makes you think he had fast cavalry? O_o

I've seen an 87 year old woman, in a wheelchair, beat up a fit 21 year old guy.

Therefore, grannies are great at defending themselves.

A full and complete understanding of the Tomb Kings book and units therein.

I would think the chariot entry should have the answers to what you are looking for... :)

And what about things (Slaaneshi spells for a start) that bestow other Psychological effects? Frenzy? Hatred? Stupidity?

What about them?

I am certain these play out as normal. It is perfectly possible that a model subject to Hatred is also immune to Panic, just to take one example.

Yes, it's nice to note that spells like the Slaaneshi one that gives a unit frenzy will actually work on Slaaneshi Warrior troops...
