Howdy gang,

Was in the middle of half a dozen projects and couldn't get inspired about anything a few months back. I had been coming off a semi retirement to 40K and had a big tourney coming up (Liber Animus in Melbourne Australia)... Needed something... Was traveling heaps between then and the big weekend in question.

So rather than do the safe thing and finish a half done project... I bought $150 in putty and sculpted this army on the plane and in hotel rooms over a few weeks before getting back to Melbourne and painting it in a week before the tourney...

So without further ado... My Tzeentch Daemons...

For those saying WTF... Well you are right it is weird...

The little eyes are horrors (The pink ones have Bolt of Tzeentch)... You can tell the squads apart by their eye colour and one of the golden eyed squad has the infinity symbol on its iris... This is the changeling...

The tongues are screamers

The white unlidded eyes with flames coming out of the back are flamers

The Giant rainbow coloured eye is my Lord of Change

The two pacman mouths are daemon princes

and the weird thing in the back is my soulgrinder...

More picts here....

well, I doubt anyone said WTF.. more like OMFG..

And those are neat little things... I mean if "I" thought I was tripping on acid, imagine how your opponent felt on the battlefield.

But all kidding aside, this is one awesome army. Unique, original, fun, cool on every aspect. Good job.

Seriously awesome dude! So simple in execution and so effective. Reminds me of beholders from forgotten realms. The pink demon prince is my favourite. 4 stars!

I haven't been to sleep for two days which only enhanced the trippyness of this army. Nice, suitably chaotic.

Well thats different.

I would love to play against a unique army like that. Even though it's weird, it's very nicely done.

Great job!

Just because no one has... WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great job, thats fricken great. Made my night, seriously. Its like that episode of Futurama with the planet of balls.

Definitely different.
It has a kind of Yellow Submarine vibe.

It's funny seeing it on the table against a "normal" IG army. As if characters from a war movie had somehow crossed dimensions and stumbled into a nightmarish children cartoon.

I like it.

That idea is just so *******' cool!

Might have to "borrow" it... ;) :D

An entire army for less than $200... nice... very very nice!

Epic, quite similar to how I did my pink horrors (I used spore mines with a greenstuffed eye on them) very cheap too!

whoa how original! captures that tzeentch feeling really well!
How does it play on the table top, i'd imagin a mono tzeentch daemon army is tricky.

That is totally, utterly brilliant. I love it. Did anyone every play the ancient sega megadrive game where you had to walk through a field of horrible killy eyes?

Ok now I'm jealous, someone totally leaked you my idea for tzeentch stuff in my demon army...

Eye Envy aside-amazing looking army. Bravo to you sir.

I especially like the changeling hiding in there with his infinity symbol.

Did you make all the eyes by hand? or did you use some putty over some spherical object?

I'm planning on adding some heralds to tzeentch to my army, on discs being pulled by eyeballs (like your demon princes/LoC)-any hints? Did you use GS or some other putty? What sort of rods did you use to base them?

I'm glad you did so well, you honestly deserve all the credit!

AAHAHAHAHAHA, awesome, pure awesome. Only suggestion is some pure white highlights on the eyeballs themselves, other then that. good stuff.

I couldn't get this army out of my head as I drove home from work. It's really inspirational.... so much so that I just went out and bought bags of marbles and putty to try this out myself.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. :D

I may attempt a blog of my progress. Of course I'll link to the original!

edit; quick question, what were the blank bases used for?

Tinfoil... Funny you posted... I playtested this army once before the tourney... When I was in Boston... Against Brian from Danger Planet and we talked about you since I had been reading your daemon logs... small world...

As for the eyes... Thanks guys!

The eyes themselves are all hand rolled green stuff as that way I could get variable sized balls... The D.P.s and the large things are sculpted around ping pong balls...

Game wise it plays really well I was shocked! I won three out of six games (by LARGE margins)... Tied one and came very close in two games since my 40k's are not back up to snuff but they are getting there... Ran into a "sanctuary" daemon prince/ guard army... I couldn't shoot, see, assault huge portions of the dudes army... Grossly unfun to play...

Awesome. Rediculous, but awesome. If I were a guardsman facing this army, I don't know if I should pee my pants out of fear or laughter.

I don't understand this part :wtf:

Sanctuary is a daemonhunters psychic ability that if it goes off prevents a daemon player from doing anything within three inches of the model doing it... Which in this case was a fantastically compact three squads of grey knights... Everything was dead...

I was super pissed off...

Never heard of it, but sounds really specific. Why would someone bring that to an all-round tournament, where it's not too likely you'll face daemons?

You still came in second though :)

Small world indeed! Let me know the next time you're in Boston, and we'll get a game in.

Will do matey!

Will do...

Yeah Sanctuary pops up semi often as daemons are all over the joint down here... At least I didn't play the guy with two of them... I hate that ability...

BRAD! Its Adam, good to see the eyes on the forums. They looked great when I saw them at Melb store. Didn't cause too much of a riot did they? I can picture WGAU wingeing about non-gw models and such.

Great work
