Battle Plan:

Idea would be to have the Vamp Lord sit in behind the frenzied Blood knights and shadow their moves up the field of battle. His flying gives him a 20" range so if anyone tries to bait my blood knights I would sick the Vamp Lord out on them to clear the path.

The Bloodknights (w/ flag of blood keep banner) will have both the BSB (w/ drankholf banner) and the second Dread Knight Hero with them carrying the blooddrinker sword. So effectively this unit has a 2+ normal save, with a 4+ ranged ward save, following a 4+ regenerative save and if the Dread Knight Hero scores any wounds the unit is allowed to gain that many wounds back - resurrecting any fallen Bloodknights. Combined with the Bloodknights awesome offensive (frenzy) + the extra attack from the magic sword the champion carries, I can't imagine much will stand in the way of this unit so I will use it to take down the heaviest, most rewarding targets in the game it can get to.

Now the Ghouls are simply there to soak up any damage the opponent wants to waste. They are undead so he will have to kill an entire unit for it to completely perish. Otherwise my plan is to use the Dark Acolyte Vamp Hero to sit behind the main lines and continually cast the Summon Ghouls ability to increase the size of the ghouls in the 3 units. So if the opponent does not focus his attention on knocking either the vamp out or the units of ghouls he may find himself quickly overrun by the sheer number of ghouls my Vamp is creating in the backfield.

Finally, Id like to use the Varghulf (or possibly the 3x cairn wraiths) to sit on the outside flank of the ghouls and keep them protected there as they are moving forward. If the ghouls get attacked head on I'd use the Varghulf to attack the enemies flank. Otherwise Id keep the Varghulf on the move and try to get it into grips with any vulnerable targets such as cannons/mages/etc.

So there it is let me know what you guys think... I know alot of people cringe thinking how small the total amount of units is starting out, but with so many Vamps in the army it has the potential to grow quick during battle. The only thing I really worry about is being outclassed in magic. If the opponent manages to dispel my spells then I may find myself in a bit of trouble I think. Let me know what you think, thanks =]

though the blood knights are very durable they are not invincible and will attract every little single shot from your opponent, also watch out for other knights charging the blood kights, particularly grail knights.

I run almost the same list but I use 20 zombies in place of one of the ghoul units and I have 2 units of 5 wolves for escorting the blood knights (blocking unwanted charges). If you are summoning ghouls, the 2 units should be enough. You may find that you need the US of the zombies in some scenarios.
