Its a fan work, but X-command, possibly the best site for all things X-com, thinks its great. I havn't had a chance to try it myself yet, but am looking forward to finding the time. Enjoy people.

Wow I'll definitely have to take a look at this! I was thinking about writing a set of rules for x-com but I never got around to it.

Iv been playing the first game on my computer at work on my lunch breaks. Brings back memories!

A tabletop version would be pretty cool.

Damn, the first game was directly responsible for me not sleeping back in school and nearly burning out my amiga. Think this needs to be investigated further.

Back in my day, we used Alternity rules. It was... decent. Wraithbored's character had a katana as I recall

I loved the first game, but it no longer works on my new computer. A real shame, cause I really enjoyed it...

Sure it works, you just need to put a little effort into it.

Download Dosbox from here: http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/news.php?show_news=1

It will let you run loads of old games!:D

Enjoy!

Pffft software solutions! I keep an old 486 around just for these sort of emergencies, and also because I keep forgetting to scrap it but thats by-the-by

i tried dosbox btw but never managed to get xcom to work...

used to work on win 98, and it worked on linux last time i tried, but not on winXP...

ah well, obviously i'm not computer literate enough for it...

I only glanced over the manual but it looks like a direct translation of the computer game rules. Which could be a bit complex without a computer to crunch the numbers for you no? I dunno :P
