Beastlord @ 249 Pts
- Mark of Nurgle; General; Heavy Armour; Shield
- Pelt of the Dark Young, Horn of the Great Hunt, Slaughterer's Blade

Not sure if I favor the Slaughterer's Blade, if only because it makes the Beastlord too expensive for what he'll actually achieve. Otherwise he looks good. I run mine more or less the same but w/a plain ol' GW for a weapon.

Wargor @ 189 Pts
- Mark of Nurgle; Heavy Armour; Battle Standard, Beast Banner

Not crazy for any of the BoC banners...in typical Dwarfish fashion I'd run this guy w/weapon and armour rather than w/a magic banner, because you may find it's more of a bonus to have the chance for your herds to stay in place for a round of combat to allow flanking units to get a charge. I don't runa BSB in my BoC though so I could just not know what I'm talking about.

Bray Shaman @ 191 Pts
- Mark of Nurgle; Magic Level 2; Lore of Nurgle; Braystaff
- Chaos Armour, Dispel Scroll

Bray Shaman @ 160 Pts
- Mark of Chaos Undivided; Lore of Beasts; Magic Level 2
- Staff of Darkoth, Dispel Scroll

I would run both these guys as scroll caddies...6PD at 2k isn't worth a 350pt investment.

12 (5/7) Beast Herd (Gors/Ungor) @ 88 Pts
- Musician, Champion

12 (5/7) Beast Herd (Gors/Ungor) @ 88 Pts
- Musician, Champion

16 (7/9) Beast Herd (Gors/Ungor) @ 120 Pts
- Standard; Musician, Champion

16 (7/9) Beast Herd (Gors/Ungor) @ 120 Pts
- Standard; Musician, Champion

which will be ambushing and which won't? Personally I'd recommend some more ungors in each unit to reduce the odds for a panic test and to give you some more meat shields against shooting/magic.

4 Minotaurs of Nurgle @ 241 Pts
- Mark of Nurgle; Great Weapon; Light Armour; Standard

I don't feel that they need the standard...they can't take on strong units head-on but, because of your lack of US5 flankers you should probably be using them for this purpose.

Overall I think you need some more heavy hitters and fast moving troops like centigors or more minotaurs to act as flankers in conjunction w/your herds. Having a small herd or two to ambush is good but the herds on the table should be at least the size of your 16strong units imo. Too many points invested in characters (especially shamen) who won't contribute much to the army...I think your best bet is to shave these guys down (even drop the BSB) to invest more points into harder hitters or bigger herds.

Its nice to see a balanced nurgle BoC list!

I have to agree that it looks like you will struggle against heavy magic defence; sadly magic is really an all or nothing thing.

Your army is a little more herd heavy than what I would use. If you are planning on the 16 man herds being combat herds I think you should buff their unit size. Personally I think a herd should have at least 7+7+5 models to ensure they will rank up well against 5 wide 25mm enemies.

How do you plan to use the BSB, for +1 cr, break test rerolls or to buff the minotaur attacks? I find herds tend to have enough low str attacks for low T/armour targets, and against anything more robust spam attacks just don't work. Keep in mind BoC are terrible Ld so if they lose combat they often flee, even with rerolls. If you want to use the BSB just as +1cr it may be worth making him crown of horns + magic weapon. 3w, 5+ ward is pretty tough, protecting his CR nicely.

---------------

This any better?

Lord switched to allow more attacks.

I plan on using the BSB for CR bonus... so I added the Warbanner to increase static CR.

I was going to ambush with the smaller herds (though not sure if that's the best idea or not).

Added in Centigor and Giant for a couple more heavy hitters. (I want to use things I actually have and not proxy...)

Dropped down to a single scroll caddy, since I can't do magic, might as well just do defense. My opponent *should* be low magic as well (Brets).

1 Beastlord @ 233 Pts
- Mark of Nurgle; General; 2ndWeapon; Heavy Armour; Shield
- Pelt of the Dark Young, Crown of Horns, Sword of Might

The Sword of Might won't stack w/an additional hw; you need two mundane hws to get the +1 A. I think your best bet is really just an ol' fashioned GW.

10 (5/5) Beast Herd @ 80 Pts
- Musician, Foe-Render

10 (5/5) Beast Herd @ 80 Pts
- Musician, Foe-Render

The Foe-Render makes these guys a little too expensive...if you dropped both and the musicians you'd be 5pts shy of fielding a 3rd ambushing unit. When I put only a handful of units into ambush I use a 'buddy system' (:p); so basically I'll have two units per 'target' since ambushing isn't very reliable.

6 Centigors @ 149 Pts
- Spear; Light Armour; Shield; Standard; Musician, Gorehoof

Probably don't need a champ here.

1 Chaos Giant @ 225 Pts
- Mutant Monstrosity

Forget about Mutant Monstrosity, totally not worth it imo.

I like it.

I run a list which is virtually the same...plays around w/herd sizes a bit, and I quit running Drogres so I could get used to them not being in the next BoC armybook but otherwise we're on the same page. Which means, of course, you get my wholehearted stamp of approval! :p

I really hope that they stay... otherwise I be tempted to run a WoC list.

Im gonna have to agree with the plain ol' GW. Definatly best for the beast lord. Although I'd just be tempted to say DOOMBULL!!!.

Wanted to play an ambush list for a change... hence no Doombull (and less Minotaurs then usual too :p )
