Seeing as these two units are not going to have model released (right?) for a while, i was wondering what people were thinking would be good to represent them? Ie what they should look like if somebody wanted to put them together.

Cheers

For the Vermin Lord I'll be using the actual Vermin Lord & for the abomination I'll be using the caller's rat beast (necromunda) which I've been using as a burrowing behemoth from the hellpit list. If I fancy using two I may use my converted skaven giant as well.

So here's a wip shot of my abomination(s):

I've always loved this model. Would be fairly easy I'd imagine to convert the head to look more rat like, and give it a rat tail. It's called the Thing in the Woods. Its under the misc. section in Mordheim.

Oooh good spotting. I may have to make a third abomination :D

The old vermin lord

I've got this sat on my painting desk at the moment, I think with a little green stuff and some work on the head it has great potential.

The red horns and the pointing are a dead give away to when this mini was made. I have a whole heap of Character models from the red period and nearly everyone of them is pointing.

I to have one of my two Vermin Lords on my painting station at the moment & I made a promise that the 1st one would be "classically" done ie. red horns baby!

well given the illustration in the armmy book, what im thinking of trying to do is to take four rat ogers and a vampire corpse cart to mod it. ill use the wheels and parts from the cart to do the rear end and ill mash rat ogre torsos on the arm/neck holes out of the first torso wich will be connected to the wooden wheels etc that ill make from the cart. From there it will have 2 pairs of legs and various arms/heads in the other open spots.

This description might only look good in my head, and is a bit out of my price range at the moment, but if i ever try it and it looks good temporarily assembled ill go for it.

But again, it might just be one of those things that sounds a lot better in one's head and will suck if i ever see it actually assembled, but this is one of the first things that popped into my head when i looked it over in the book.

Dunno what going to do yet bout the abomination, been looking at a few things, but so far think 2 chaos spawns and a bunch of rat orge bits mashed together on a chariot base might look alright lol

I've got my own Abomination converted like the burrowing behemoth from the Hell Pit article, plus some spawn and dragon spines, rat ogre pieces and a tyranid bio weapon with green stuffed hoof for a third leg.

I'd probably go with the classic Vermin Lord model, but anyone could always try and convert something like the Avatar from the Skaven Eldar army.

Someone else posted a link to this in another skaven thread. I agree it makes a pretty good vermin lord model but it is non-GW so won't be usable in many tournis.

The vermin lord model is pretty good as the vermin lord. I'm using a giant/stegadon base for my abomination, lots of green stuff and probably sculpey too to create the worm look described in the book.

If I was gonna do Skaven... and I wanted a VerminLord/Abomination, I'd be looking at the sometime to be released, Impact Headslicer model (http://artistsunited.myfreeforum.org/ftopic2416-0.php).

Unfortunately since TalkBloowbowl is down, I can't find the reference picture. But he seemed to be pretty huge. It'd just be a bit of effort to well... de-bloodbowlise his armour and make it more Skaven.

Personally I'm going to be basing mine off of carnifex with it's carapace made to looks like an armored harness (think an EVA from neon genesis evangelion, big monster controlled by it's armor plating).

These are helpit abominations produced by the under-empires denizens, the greyish ones are part of a helpit army list that would all make great abominations.
I forget who to credit for them but if you head on over there you can see more of them.

This forge world beastie would also make an excellent abomination... I've seen the model, it's a chunky critter. :)

As has been pointed out, there is a Verminlord model. It's a classic mini, but it's a good one. I've got one from 5th edition: a little conversion work and it will look a right beast. I'm converting a pair of Abominations for my hellpit list right now. Giants, greenstuff and a few ratogre parts go a long way.

I've just finished making/painting my Hell Pit Abomination.

It's in my photo album - Hell Pit Abomination - Fresh off the painting table - if you want to check it out

GW's happy go lucky red days :p

Quickly followed by GW's technicolour days (remember the 2nd Ed Tyranid army? it was an alien rainbow!)

Here's my abom, thanks to some suggestions i used typhon from horde and giant worm from RAFM. They're quite small, but i think they work well together

I can't believe I wasn't the only person to have this idea, but my Abom is made from a Giant with a WLC sutured into its back, with three arms. Mine has bitz from the WLC, the old metal Rat Ogres, the Plague Furnace, the Ork Trukk, and plenty of Green Stuff. I'll post a pic when I can get my camera to work.
