I believe it could either be the Grey Knights, whose records were destroyed for secrecy, the Legion of the damned, or, who could forget the Rainbow Warriors, if so I think their primarch would probably have been Hello Kitty, and the records were destroyed to preserve the Imperiums manliness.

Grey Knights are a second founding Chapter created after the Horus Heresy. Legion of the Dammed are also known as to who they are.

This subject has been done to death BTW.

Could members please use the search function in reagards to topics such as this, granted the search is not 100% but considering the amount of times this comes up you will get a page or two.

I will never understand why people keep saying the Grey Knights and The Legion of the Damned are the two missing legions.

Thier not, we all know thier not.

Hell even GW has said who the Legion of the Damned is

It's hard for people to read a Codex or check Lexicanum for information, you know :p

There was a poster on WarSeer once upon a time who was so adamant in the belief this his fanfic on Grey Knights was canon that I could see some people getting confused if they listened to his twisting oratories.

That said, the Grey Knights and Legion of the Damned are not the missing Legions - as has been linked to and described already.

For completeness sake:

That should answer the original poster's question.

Ok. Now I know that's wrong

I have read a piece of fluff about them appearing at a battle and there was more than 100 of them

How convenient, then, that they're estimated to be just under 200...

Besides, it's an estimation on their current strength - plus, without a timeframe (both in universe and of the article in question), it's hard to offer an explanation one way or the other.

In other words - where did you read it? When was it written? When did it take place in universe? etc. etc.

The flucuating tides of GW background coupled with inconsistent in universe dates make it difficult to judge the current size of any non-Codex organization of Marines.

Yes that's the number lexi. Says made it out of the warp but it says half of them died before they made it out of deep space.

And the rest of my post goes on to explain that it's probably a case of the Legion crashing into an asteroid made of Handwavium :p

Without sources, timing, and knowing which pieces are currently canon, it's hard to estimate sizes of things. Luckily, origin stories tend to remain the same.
