Well yeah, since my other armies are currently on the side ive started a Preheresy army... Thousand Sons! The armies going to be a drop poding one... Updating will be slow, mainly due to a lack of a camera... Anyway

As you can see some are missing heads, they should be arriving within a couple weeks though... Im ordering some special ones...

My two special weapon holders, the guy in Mk1 armor will be a meltagunner also (even though his weapon is a plasmagun)

Some things to look for... Ive also ordered a certain special 'Golden Man' to be leading my army while I wait for his special 'Red Child' to be custom made in the new year...

Nice use of old style parts, look forward to seeing them painted. Has potential :)

Interesting. Thousand Sons have one of the best pre-heresy looks, so I'm curious what you'll be doing with it.

It may be heresy to cut in an old model, but why not update the plasma gun and change it into the melta it is supposed to represent? It looks better and is WYSIWYG

21-10-2009, 06:39
hey the old thunder armour isnt half as small as i had thought it to be - nice :)

A good start. The helemt conversion is very simple yet very effective.

I was about to post pretty much exactly the same. :) Looking forward to seeing progress.

@Mojaco: Id honestly like to and probably will... I just nede to find a spare meltagun... THousand Sons boxes dont come with any special weapons.

Just so you all know they may be old style models but I just bought the Armor through the Ages pack...

I recieved a pakage of heads today from Maxmini for the models so yippee!

22-10-2009, 09:15
Ah, more Pre-Heresy, Thousands sons at that and a Mk. I Marine on top!

It's clear already this will be a true army to boot. Will you add the forehead-jewel to every model?

And how about a piece of Mk. I Rhino APC (http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=225932)?

22-10-2009, 21:15
Plasa gun? That mk1 guy is holding a boltgun, like most of the old armoured guys. There used to be a variant with some sort of polearm, though.

Nice work on the conversions - I'll be interested to see them in all their scarlet glory. :)

22-10-2009, 21:17
Well, that ol' Thunderarmour Marine is probably my favourite amongst the whole 40k range (also, it's as old as I am). That's telling, considering all the fine highlights in there, and then not to mention DKoK and Vossies. Instead an 1989 model tops my list. :)

I've seen photos of polearmed versions myself, but this one is better. It's especially nice that the weapon really is mix of everything and could be used/painted up as a bolter, plasmagun, flamer or meltagun.

Lack of a camera and until recently a computer (been using my iPod)

The army has grown substantially though and should be at 1000 pts soon

19-11-2009, 12:56
Well, we're in for a full blown treat if this force is about to reach the 1000 pts mark.
It'll look wonderful. :)
Don't forget to sneak at the other Pre-Heresy Thousand Sons logs around here!
And whilst this will sound as utter heresy: Do not underestimate the value of the new Space Wolves box for Pre-Heresy Marines. Especially the shoulder pads might prove useful.

Awaiting updates, anxiously.

A very promising beginning to an army this one, definitely going to be following it with some interest.

I like how you've blended the old metals with the newer plastics and slipped in some of the newer Thousand Sons metals, they look very good. The little unifying touch of the same helmet flash on every model is grand and seems to be an effective and attractive solution to that problem which all Pre-Heresy Thousand Sons modellers seem to come up against with the helmet flashes.

Ironclad Dread

Was a pain to try and get that head in there to replace the normal sarcophagus...

Terminator Librarian with storm shield.

The fur is a tad strange but it will be painted in rich egyptian like colors... Its not going to be your normal browns and such... Im in the process of modifying his stormshield since the imperial heraldry while nice could use a shift...

And lastly... The begginings of a small sub army I plan to have with my 1k sons....

Hes a stand in and leads my army until I can get around to finding a primarch... Also makes for a very good Objective in games (statue?)

El T at the risk of hijacking the thread I think the figs from a Spanish or Italian company who mimick GW primarchs. Think that ones called The Emperor!

Er, not sure who makes them, got it from someone whos a middleman... Its called the Golden Knight I believe so that it doesnt infringe on Gw's IP.... Im currently eyeing a set of minis that are identical to Adeptus Custodes... BUt im going to wait until summer when I have a source of income before I splurge on them...

Terminator librarian is really cool, but I'm afraid that the Ironclad Dreads are post heresy.

Or it could just be a heavily armoured dreadnought with an extra close-combat arm?
They had 2 DCCW dreads pre-heresy. ;)

If you google; Golden Knight miniature then it comes up with an English website that does them and a series of "lords"...

However it appears to be down at the moment...
