Hey guys!

I have been hanging around this website for a while, i always pop in to have a look at the Glass Cabinet section to see whats new, but iv eventually decided to start up my own blog on here!

Some of you may know me from my blogs on The Ogre Stronghold and The Warhammer Forum , and if not, im a 16 yr old amateur sculptor (well i try to be), whos passion since first picking up the GW catalogue at 10 years old, till this very day has been the Servants of the Old Ones. I had been doing the odd model and such for a few years, but since the new book came out, i decided to finally have a go at a proper army, and not just individual models that i thought might be quite cool...

Well, enough of my Jibba Jabba, here is my force so far. Sorry about the rubbish pics, most are taken on my camera phone, so the colours dont really come out as well as i would like, but hey...

http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv191/WarplockM/DSC00897.jpg http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv191/WarplockM/DSC00898.jpg http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv191/WarplockM/DSC00904.jpg http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv191/WarplockM/DSC00903.jpg http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv191/WarplockM/DSC00900.jpg http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv191/WarplockM/DSC00901.jpg

Ill post any other pictures i have scavenged... there is quite a few bits missing, and ill try and get pics of them when i can : )

Ill start by posting up my characters... damn this photo-limit thing is annoying :P

My Oldblood Gar’Quincani, which roughly translates into ‘explosion of attack’ in Lizze-speak, and on his ‘Coatlsaur’, a count-as carnie :P

It would be really great if you'd take some better pics. From what I can tell the models look really sweet; cool conversions and more than solid painting.

Edit: Ah those weren't there yesterday. Very cool stuff! Pic quality is nice too.

09-11-2009, 05:22
I have been following your log for a while on the Warhammer Forum. Glad to see it over here, too. These pics definitely don't do them justice!
Seriously one of the coolest armies I have ever seen. A huge inspiration! That Stegadon makes me drool every time I see it. :D
Keep up the good work, your conversion and painting skills make for some serious motivation to us lazier folks! :p

Mr Feral
09-11-2009, 13:26
Very nice Lizardmen, the sculpting, painting and conversion work are all excellent!

The Skink Priests are my favourites :)

09-11-2009, 13:50
insane man!, love the sculpting on the carnosaur! haha, very nice paint jobs, btw, do you have any pics of wip? or even before painting the models? for example the carnosaur?:P haha
anyway, love it, please keep it up

09-11-2009, 17:30
Love your models... amazing army! Great conversion, a lot of style and great colourscheme!

Goat of Yuggoth
09-11-2009, 19:02
These are really sweet, where do you get the ideas and ability to make them work? I've been trying to get my lizzies painted again, but other projects drag me down from my contemplation-chamber :)

Great work, keep it coming. The diorama and flyskink are ace.

09-11-2009, 19:12
Blesings of of Old Ones,
Quickly spawned this thread was,
much looking I have to do.

09-11-2009, 19:21
Amazing army.The oldblood is phenomenal!

09-11-2009, 19:46
Very good painting. Some neat conversions. What are the skinks riding in your first picture. Are those a counts as razordon unit?

09-11-2009, 20:46
Cool Lizardmen, your models gave me some converting ideas so don't mind if I steal some of your ideas :D

09-11-2009, 21:51
Thanks for the comments guys! =D Im really really sorry about the pictures, i know they are diabolical, but they are gonna haveto do for now untill i have occasion to unpack everything again... so...so much toilet roll :|

martjin - Hahaha, well, i *suppose* i could give you an unpainted pic of the Carnie ;)

Jormi_Boced - Yeah man, those are my count as Razordons...i dont have any painted pics, but here they are unpainted...

Goat of Yuggoth - Im not too sure where i got my ideas from, the ways of the Old Ones are mysterious indeed ;) My army-wide theme is a Host of the Old One Tepok, symbolised by the Coatl, a feathered serpent (hence the name...gettit? ;]) so i thought using lots of feathers would be cool...thus allowing me to use alot of bright colours and such, and the ideas just came on from there!

SonofBaharlu - I dont mind, as long as you post them up on here and say 'Warplock gave me these ideas, oh yay he is all knowing, and oh yay may he be thanked for this inspiration.', Oh, and you must sacrifice a white rooster at dawn. Then i will be appeased =P

Anyway, thanks for the comments guys! =D Im really really sorry about the pictures, i know they are diabolical, but they are gonna haveto do for now untill i have occasion to unpack everything again... so...so much toilet roll :|

Anyway, what im working on now is a full-sculpted Slann and his palanquin...nothing really picture-worthy yet, but stay tuned for updates :]

09-11-2009, 22:14
Ah Ok I remember seeing some of these over at TVP,
But you have done a lot of converting since then,
I realy like how the whole army has a cohesive theme. :D

Ps. What prehistoric creature are your Razordons proxies based on ?

09-11-2009, 22:22
N810: Yeahh, that was quite a while ago! i havnt posted on there in yonks!

And they are just based on these little critters...

;) I christen them my Death Kiwis :P

09-11-2009, 23:28
Wow, Kiwi's. Those are awesome models. Did you buy these or sratch build them?

10-11-2009, 02:26
Very rarely does an army combine great sculpting, theming and painting so well! Really glad I ventured into the fantasy logs and found this, hope to see more soon. :)

By the old ones this is one of the most greatest ever lizarmen blog ever.

10-11-2009, 23:34
Incredible. Simply incredible. So many amazing conversions, and you certainly have the painting technique to back them up.

11-11-2009, 01:34
I think i'm in love..

the purple looks amazing!

Goat of Yuggoth
11-11-2009, 06:15
I missed the headline

But yeah, Tepok is a god favored by many (although I didn't use his spawning too much when we had sacred spawnings).

And those kiwi's of death are magnificent! I always disliked those Razordons, I'd be more happy playing against these!

11-11-2009, 20:38
Goat of Yuggoth - Well, i think its just because his imagry is so alike to the orginal Aztec/Mayan stuff, with the god Quetzacoatl or whatever his name was, and great minds think alike ;) Hahaha!

SonofBaharlu - Nope, they are ALL sculped by me, i used pebbles i picked up from a trip to the beach as a base to build upon! It give them weight, plus it saves ALOT of time and putty =P

Anyway, i have an update... *waggles eyebrows*...

One of the greatest criticism of my list at the Maul was the fact i had taken Temple Guard without a Slann (infact, the sole reason i took them was to use up point that i hadnt got in model form... :/), and the other greatest criticism was the fact i hadnt had a Slann at all... so i thought that would be my next project, to construct a Slann worthy to lead my Host, and here he is so far! =)

The thing on his face is going to become an elaborate, golden, and of course feathered mask, to tie him in with the theme of the army. The palanquin itself is HUGE, just a bit wider than a 50 x 50 base, so its going to be a real challenge to get it to fit in the unit :/ But i plan to have it blinged out to the MAX, with a hookah, a bowl of Itxi Grubs, and other Jabba The Hut-esque gubbins ;)

So what do you think guys?

- Warpy

12-11-2009, 00:50
That is a bad ass Slann. I love it so far!

(Nearly falls down in shock at the sheer quality of those models.)

You sir, are an inspiration to Lizardmen players everywhere. I can't decide what I like more-- your converted engine, greenstuff-made Slann, or your Death Kiwis.

Lord Azoth
12-11-2009, 08:23
amazing.... the palanquin lloks really nice as well the slann, want to see this mask.... can be amazing

12-11-2009, 09:04
Wonderful work here, man !
I'll keep an eye on this thread to see more of your minis !

Gork or Possibly Mork
12-11-2009, 17:23
I don't really like the steg piece on top of the banner ( it makes it too high IMO )

Also it will take focus away from that incredible looking Slann. It will also take focus away from whatever decked out options your thinking of for the palanquin as well. That's just my opinion but I would take it out.

Just wanted to say I really love your whole army. That coatlsaur and EOTG are amazing. I also really like your temple guard and the kiwi razordons and basically everything else from the priest caddy to the flying skink to the salamander and the bases are all well done.

Brilliant theme, sculpting and painted excuted about as pefectly as can be done. Very awe inspiring and Im sure it's even more of a sight to behold on the table top in person.

I can't really say Im a fan of the blue color for LM ( I actually like skinks blue but not saurus for some reason ) but that's a moot point and only a matter of taste.

Also just wanted to say that diorama was incredible but kind of a waste of models in a way....Only In the sence that most would kill to have an Oldblood/Scarvet and Nurgle Herald that unique and cool looking.

Looking forward to more.

12-11-2009, 17:35
Wow! This gets a gold star from me for being one of the nicest armies on warseer yet. Brilliant painting and sculpting. And you're only 16?!?

12-11-2009, 17:37
I like the stegadon bit at the top, but I can see your point. Personally I would keep it.

12-11-2009, 20:16
Incredible work. What sort of putty are you using there, and why? Cheaper than green stuff? Different qualities?

The Kiwis are my favorite so far. They really got my brain cooking. If I had your talent I would make something similar for some Tzeentch knights to ride in the service of chaos! Have you considered casting any of your creations?

13-11-2009, 21:10
Awsome, I love em.

Keep up the great work

Goat of Yuggoth
13-11-2009, 23:14
Great use of the Stegadon extra headset! I am planning to do the SC Skink 'slann' with two of those as the palanquin. I'm ponering wether I should tackle with a lizard or VC blog, and I'm not too keen on intergrating both as the same thread..

Love the Slann!

15-11-2009, 01:13
Amazing! You have done great conversions, with the Stegadon and Carnosaur. Your stuff-skills are really good.

15-11-2009, 04:20
WOW! I am really jealousy of how you have sculpted all your creatures. I have to try some of these for myself. I can't wait to see what you sculpt next.

18-11-2009, 20:41
Thanks for all the fantastic comments! =D

Mr Chair: The brown stuff i use is Terracotta Miliput, its quite a bit cheaper than GS, but it is of a different consistency. Whereas GS is quite sticky, and when dry is bendy like plastic, Miliput is very much like clay, you can smooth it with water, and it dries very hard, and afterwards can be filed and suchlike. I really like it personally, its very easy to get smooth joinings and hard edges, and the cost reduction is as always a plus point ;]

And iv considered casting up my stuff before, but with everything going on at the moment, i really cant be doing with all the hassle...besides, i like the uniqueness of my stuff, there isnt another in the world like 'em! :P

pointyteeth: Yup, i turn 17 at the end of February, im only a wee beardling =P

Ok guys, a small update, nothing to get TOO excited about, just that i have done more on the Slann:

18-11-2009, 21:05

18-11-2009, 22:23
you're right, nothing to get too excited about at all :p

Bar none, that is the most badass slann ever. Great work!

18-11-2009, 23:16
Love the hookah! If he was a bit fatter you'd have a jabba the hutt on your hands! All your work looks amazing by the way. Look forward to seeing more

19-11-2009, 00:18
It may be nothing to get excited over but i'm gonna anyway. Looks very cool man. Will you be adding more gold to him?

And once again you make me want to start converting dinosaurs. I will be PMing you for help some time in the next few months for help and ideas OK?

keep it up!!

20-11-2009, 01:19
I really like everything I've seen in this log so far. Also, the Slann kind of reminds me of Ziro the Hutt from the Clone Wars movie.

20-11-2009, 18:17
Your scultping as well as your converversions are inspiring. This plog alsomts makes me want to start my own lizzies! Your carnosaur is breathtaking. I love the color scheme on your amy. The variety of colors is awesome on the feathers. Top notch painting here! Your Slann is coming along great as well. Did you use brown stuff on him? How do you like it compared to green stuff? *SUBSCRIBE*

22-11-2009, 19:29
Dino - Yeah man, PM me any time to need some ideas or constructive advice...if i feel generous, i wont charge you ;] Hahaha jk jk...or am i? =P

Khrangar: THANKYOU! You have just given me the much needed colour scheme ;]

npow34: Cheers man! And i really DO like milliput, its very easy to get smooth edges and blending, it dries rock hard, it dires alot quicker, and its relatively cheap as chips! Whats not to love? :D

Well guys, another wee update... truly sorry about the awful, awful photos, its hard to take good ones now its getting dark so early D:

22-11-2009, 21:04
Looking very good. I definetly see were you are going with some of it.

As to the awful pics, have you ever tried a light box with a desk lamp or two? I do that with mine and I never have to worry about the time of day.

23-11-2009, 06:29
Wow, your army looks amazing. Just shows, that when you pick a theme and stick to it, the end result is an amazing looking army.
Your Slann also looks like it is shaping up well, can't wait to see it painted. And of course... you will have a Coatl in your army in the end right...? I mean, they ARE the feathered serpent (IF only you could make a Slann fly... perfect Coatl proxy right there).

23-11-2009, 07:14
Glad I could help. I'm sure he'll look great in those colours.

23-11-2009, 22:47
Your painting is very good and your conversions and self-build minis are simply amazing. The Slann I like most. It is a very impressive modell.
Kind Regards,

someone2040: Well, my plan is to eventually do a Coatl being ridden by an extremely fancy skink priest, and use it as a EotG... a project in the disant future though im afraid...

Hey guys, just a small update:

As you can see, the hookah has been duly fixed, along with the addition of a 'Ganja Monkey'..or in his case, a skink, they were all out of monkeys :P

Also, some more details on the back of the throne and such like, its a slow progress i admit, but baby steps gentlemen, ladies and unidentified, baby steps :P

It's slowly(and I mean slowly) comming together nicely. The detail your now putting into the slann are very cool. Can't wait for the next update.

I also have a quick question. What are you planning for cold one cavalry?

28-11-2009, 17:24
No words to describe the pure awesome that this army is.

Wow, the amount of detail you've already got on there, and the fact you just keep on going ... there is so much awesome stuff in this log, I can hardly wait to see the finished product on the Slann! I can wait though ;) cos I have a feeling you won't stop 'till it's perfect!

Well, my dear fellow Warseers, after exactly a month of blood, sweat and tears, the fat bar-steward has finally been completed! And just in time too... for i leave for the sands of Egypt tomorrow night! So i strived extra hard to get it finished so i could show you lovely lovely people ;]

Very nice. When I get my slann I won't go that wild with it but I may try and add some fun details to it and try to add some interesting feetures to the palaquin.

As for Cold ones Terror birds are good. You could try small versions of your caotlsaur. But if you wanted me to I could sketch up a few ideas for you.

I know earlier in this thread I said I thought the banner was too high and might take away interest from the Slann but I must say I take that back now.

It's really developed since then and I think the big horns in the front and palanquin details offset the banner and brings a nice balance to the piece.

Perhaps it might be a good idea to keep the tones of the banner toned down and muted some to really bring out Slabba the Hookah more.

Can't wait to see him painted. I'd also really like to see how cool he looks ranked up with his TG.

As for coldones as someone mentioned have you thought about doing some Culchan riders perhaps. There's fluff about those flightless birds of southern lustria in the book and I think it would really work well with the whole Coatl/Tepok theme.

Cheers Great work rock on

PS Im very jealous of your army

09-12-2009, 17:42
Very nice. When I get my slann I won't go that wild with it but I may try and add some fun details to it and try to add some interesting feetures to the palaquin.

As for Cold ones Terror birds are good. You could try small versions of your caotlsaur. But if you wanted me to I could sketch up a few ideas for you.

Hey guys!

Well...im back! I actually got back on friday morning...but i thought i would wait until i actually have something to show before i posted anything ;)

Paintwork has started in earnest... but has temporarily been halted, as i have run out of Shining Gold, and i cant get to my local GW due to the snow... ah well, itll give me a chance to catch up on all the college work i missed on holiday...*scoffs*

My paintings a bit rusty, due to the fact i havnt painted anything for nigh on 2 months...what do you think guys?

- Warpy

20-12-2009, 20:58
Good god this army is amazing! the diorama, Coatlosaur, and skinkpriest being my favs so far! the Slann looks amazing as well. he looks kinda evil with his small eyes and sneaky smile. it has alot of character!

20-12-2009, 21:00
I am glad to see some paint on the Slann!

20-12-2009, 23:56
Very nice start warplock. Just take it slow on the painting and it will all come back to you in time.

21-12-2009, 08:35
This is truly superb!
Excellent work!

28-12-2009, 10:35

After all Ive seen here on Warseer I thought, that my Lizardmen are quite alright...
But yours blew my mind.
Now I wont show mine...;)

Really good. Love the Slann, and Steg, and the carnosaurus

28-12-2009, 19:34
Look at his eyes... I know what's in that pipe, it's Spice! imported straight from Dune!
(seriously though, great sculpting/painting)

29-12-2009, 00:11
You sir need to make a copy of your carnusaur.. I desperatly need one.. :P

30-12-2009, 13:03
Your stuff is seriously awe-inspiring. Beautiful conversions.

The only thing I can think of that might be improved is the hookah on the palanquin. Not the sculpting, hell no not the sculpting, but I think it'd be more fluffy and therefore awesome with a bowl of burning incense, sort of like the story in the AB about the rare flower that skinks collect and the slann get collectively high on while burning in an enclosed room. \o/

Keep it up!

02-02-2010, 21:16

Hey guys! Long time no speak! :D

Well...ever since I got back from the Sands of Arabia, Real Life (tm) has ever increasingly got in the way... With school work, a new girlfriend, and a lead role in a musical, spare time was very thin on the ground :P

However, the schoolwork has abated, and the production is sadly over, so i have lotsh and lotsh of spare time to put into my hobbie...which i havnt touched for 2 months D:

So anyway, i have thrown myself back in with gusto, starting off with a commission from a mate of mine... ok, its taking a while to flex my modelling fingers, but heres what iv got so far:

Not much to look at...but thats your lot for now ;)

- Warpy

Mr Feral
02-02-2010, 22:03
Still, it looks like a promising start though. :)

02-02-2010, 22:30
Nice to see you back. I like the Jabberclthy so far. Can't wait to see you get back to the lizzies soon.

Note: I will be PMing you a lot starting next month to pick your brain and get wise words of wisdom on modeling techniques. You'll see why soon enough.

02-02-2010, 22:51
oh boy! looks good.

02-02-2010, 22:52
Ahh... very kool I like the Jabberclthys pose.

03-02-2010, 04:01
That is so cool..... cant wait to see more

03-02-2010, 16:37
this is a breath taking army! your is near pro level and so is your painting! Oh, and may i ask what that orange putty you use for sculpting is?

03-02-2010, 17:22
That jabberclyth looks really good so far...gonna look even better finished.

03-02-2010, 18:23
it reminds me of the bird creatures from AVATAR...

03-02-2010, 19:39
Dino: Yeah man thats fine, drop me a PM whenever you need it ;)

doodle bug: The orangy browny stuff i use is Terracotta Milliput, available any good hardware shop or on teh internetz ;]

Right chaps, an update!

03-02-2010, 22:27
Nice little update. The head is shapping up nicely. The neck is really interesting. I'm drawing a jabberscthly myself and i'm kinda doing the same thing with the spikes and hair on the neck. Keep up the great work man. And when will we see an update on the slann?

03-02-2010, 23:42
Wow, already looking incredible and you've only just begun.

Out of curiosity, why use miliput? I've always found it very difficult to work with.

04-02-2010, 00:17
Just wondering....
Is the body of that thing made out of two rocks ?

04-02-2010, 19:41
Amazing stuff u have here man! I especially like your Engine of the Gods! I always had that kind of image for it rather than ur typical steggie

05-02-2010, 19:06
We need more updates!

I thought the Carnasaur was perfect, but you improved it. :|

05-02-2010, 21:16
Looking interesting, will keep my eyes on this project.

Cheers Kaos

07-02-2010, 21:01
Dino: Sorry buddy, but the Slann has been put on the back burner for a bit... to be perfectly honest, im bored of it now :/

Mr Chair: I use it extensively, its relatively cheap for the quantity you get, it dries quite fast and hard, very very good for blending and keeping straight edges, and you can always mix it with greenstuff to make the GS go further! The trick is to use lots and lots of water, keep it moist! (ok ok, no rude jokes, this is a family website :P)

Well, the Jabberslth-cythe-wocky-wabba-clyth is finally finished...just waiting for my client to send me a base so that I can attach it so it doesn't fall over :P

Whatdya think?

- Warpy

07-02-2010, 22:05
Just found this thread. Excellent conversions and a great army concept. The jabberwocky looks absoluty borogove.

07-02-2010, 23:41
dude totally outgrabe

08-02-2010, 00:05
That looks incredible, very freaky!

08-02-2010, 01:43
Excellently done man...

Ps. nice lamp ;)

08-02-2010, 03:30
Sweet. Nice job on the jabberscythly. Hope your client likes it.

14-02-2010, 16:51
I'm glad you like it guys! :D

Right - barreling onto my next commission...

A Bone Giant, and boy, is this bloke BIG... still WIPs, but you get the basic idea...

Whatdya think?

- Warpy

14-02-2010, 18:13
Very cool. The head looks especially awesome.

14-02-2010, 22:21
Looks big. Can we get a size comparison?

Lord Azoth
15-02-2010, 09:28
the jabberwhat looks really nice, menacing in that pose,,,

thye bone giant looks really cool but maybe a bit thin for my taste, Id add it some more armour pieces or make its bones widder

15-02-2010, 15:53
Very kool I like the Anubis look on the bone giant. :skull:

15-02-2010, 19:58
Well guys, the big man is finished... just waiting for the base from my client and everything is good to go! =D

And a size comparison:

Whatdya think?

- Warpy

15-02-2010, 20:34
......That is one huge giant. Now whats next after you finish this walking pile of bones?

15-02-2010, 20:55
really cool

16-02-2010, 10:11
that giant is excellent! Your sculpting skills are amazing! My only objection is the staff of the giant...I would rather give him a huge kopesh or something more aggressive rather than a staff. It makes him look like more like a caster rather than a fighter.

but I still love it! :D

16-02-2010, 22:09
sick stuff m8 realy awsome!

Dasqueek-Master Assassin
17-02-2010, 03:45
I mean no disrespect but what the hell!
You're only 16 and you are turning out some of the best sculpting on this very respectable site.

Im uber impressed and can honestly say that I think you could make a career out of this after a few years if you like.

19-02-2010, 06:45
I love your battle scene. Now if only gw would make plague bearers like that. Great work man. One Love

19-02-2010, 14:01
Hi warp, followed your blog on TWF, and I just have to say its one of my favorite threads.

Loving how skilled you areat scuplting and painting! Really love your lizards esp. the stegadon soo cool. Keep it up

Mr. Ultra
20-02-2010, 13:41
That Bone Giant is AWESOME :D I love it!!!

20-02-2010, 13:59
What a quality load of models you have here. You are one talented fellow to be able to bring them all to reality. Highlights for me... engine of the Gods, bone giant absolutely amazing and the feathers on the carnosaur ...... just inspired!

lord ugwart
20-02-2010, 15:38
Sorry if this has been asked before, but what is that brown stuff that you use to sculpt?
and is it easier to shape than green stuff?

20-02-2010, 22:53
Milli putty. It can be harder then green stuff but i forms way better IMO. Better for use in large projects not just filling in gaps like the green.

Keep up the good work on those Sculpts man! Only 16 and this is what you can do.... sigh.... :wtf:

21-02-2010, 14:30

these are amazing, i love that slann, it just ooozes power

21-02-2010, 20:00
I most like your stega-razor-don/EOTG, but all these models show that you have simply amazing ability.
Not only 'ability', though, but also insight into what works/looks good and what poses to use/attention to detail and keeping everything in scale as well.
I can see a stellar future for you in doing this stuff - only 17 and already taking commissions as well..? Truly astounding work: speechless.

Is it best to use GS for the teeth? Or would Milliput work?

21-02-2010, 21:19
Meraklis: Well, it was a specific ask from the client for the Giant to have a staff - he wanted it to emphasis the Anubis theme =)

andyg: Thanks man! =D And for the teeth... you can use just about anything to be fair. The thing i tend to do is do the certain features of the face, the eyes, hair, teeth, in a colour putty different to the one i did the face with, so that before painting they are easier to make out. For example - if i had primarily used milliput on the face, i would use greenstuff for those features and vice versa. Its just aesthetically more appealing when I'm posting pictures for you guys =)

Thankyou for all your fantastic comments! =D

Onto my new model! This time, a Lord of Change I am working on for yet another commission:

And take a quick guess what my next one's gonna be... ;]

- Warpy

21-02-2010, 21:47
Oh awesome abom sketch,
And the lord of change is looking epic

21-02-2010, 22:12
..... Lord of change is amazing...

Abomination! Can't wait to see that one in progress and all done.. And I wonder why?? hmmmmm.

21-02-2010, 22:19
Wow I loved your lizzies which I first spoted on TWF. Your sculpting is getting better all the time and it is looking so nice and crisp! The abom sketch looks promesing and the LoC looks very cool so far.

Keep it up man, love your work

21-02-2010, 22:26
Hey this looks interesting. Cool to see so many kinds of "stuff" youre using or is it just different colors on it?

Anyway, i will drop in here to see whats cooking as long as youre creating more! :)

21-02-2010, 23:06
Already want that Lord of Change. Concept for the abomination looks really good too!

21-02-2010, 23:41
Sweet. I like it a lot so far. I can't wait to see the wings. Keep it up.

Dasqueek-Master Assassin
22-02-2010, 03:15

IM amazed.... no other words...

What about wings that are connected under the arms on the side to the underside of the arm itself? Like a real set of wings insted of the wings by themselves.

HIs pose really lends itself to a pose like that and I can think of him holding it almost like a cape!

28-02-2010, 12:09
Hey guys!

Well, it was my 17th birthday yesterday, so am currently nursing a rather persistent hangover...but i thought I would come on here and give you beautiful people an update ;]

The LOC is just about finished... just waiting for the wings to come from my client and everythings good to go =]

Work has also started on the Abomination... just waiting for various gubbinz from the client to stick on to make it look pretty =P

- Warpy

28-02-2010, 15:02
OMG your sculpting is amazing! :D:D The LoC is unbelievably detailed, as was the Slaan! That HPA is going to look ace. Looking forward to more ;)

28-02-2010, 17:14
Happy birthday man. Nice job on the LOC. Hellpit Abomination is definetly of to a good start.

Oh and by the way I will start PMing you for sculpting help next week.

28-02-2010, 22:39
DUDE! That Abomb is gonna be sweeeeeeeet. :D

01-03-2010, 01:22
You're only 17 and you can already sculpt this good? Get out of my sight. You're making me sick.

01-03-2010, 17:50
Great sculpts! The Abomination and the LOC look awesome!

01-03-2010, 18:09
Sweet stuff you got there. All very nicely converted and painted. Keep up the good work!

04-03-2010, 20:19
Well guys, heres an update on the Abomination, after a shedload of bits arrived this morning from the client... Oh what fun :D

Whatdya think?

- Warpy

04-03-2010, 21:12
More magoty imho.. abominations are made of those darn earth worm thingies.. =)

Otherwise NEAT!.. =)

04-03-2010, 23:36
I can't wait to use that Abomb on the table!!!:D I was gonna send more bits to ya, but noticed how well you do with just milli putty. You Seem to do a better job on your stuff, when its from scrap. Keep up the good work man!

05-03-2010, 00:26
This is fantastic. The model totally looks like something mutated beyond recognition, and the little wheels are hilarious. It also maintains a sense of direction, despite its haphazardness, something which I feel the "giant column of flesh and teeth" abominations lack.

05-03-2010, 03:42
Looks pretty good. I like how it looks so rattishly tiwsted in all the right way. Can't wait to see this bad boy finished.

05-03-2010, 20:25
Hey guys!

Well... I had a mad sculpting spree after i got back from college today... I managed to get both the Abomination, AND the Lord of Change finished! =D

More to come =)

LOC looks really sweet. Very epic looking.

Abomination looks rather sweet so far. How close are you to being done with it?

06-03-2010, 10:45
My sculpting's not that great and I feel a little awkward giving criticism to an obvious master but aren't the LoC wings a little small?

Don't take this the wrong way because I really love your stuff. Keep up the good work and can't wait to see whats next.

06-03-2010, 11:02
God damit your good...

Simply stunning.. !!

06-03-2010, 15:36
100% pure awesome!

06-03-2010, 16:17
Wow, really impressive stuff here.

06-03-2010, 23:00
O my gosh..... all your works are simply amazing.... I guess some of the best conversion i've ever seen. And a stunning painting as well! Its a pity the pictures are a bit blurry, i'd love to see your painted minis a bit more clearly - they seem to look gorgeous!

07-03-2010, 18:11
pheonixguard09: I know they seem a bit small, but they were the wings that the client sent me, and i do believe the largest set of feathered wings GW produce... :/

So... i found myself with a bit of free time today ( which should have been spent doing homework, but Shhhh) so I made a 'before-the-big-clown-demon-thingy" Nagash out of a Tomb King model i had lying around...

I'll be putting this bad boy on Ebay tonight... a link will be posted up later :)

08-03-2010, 20:47
Your greater daemon of tzeentch looks so awesomely dynamic. It took Forgeworld ages to get one out and even then it just stands there with its palm up. Well done on yours!

10-03-2010, 19:56
Hey guys!

Sorry about the cruddy pics of Nagash, here, have some new ones!

And, due to my current lapse in commissions, i decided to have a go at a model myself... Having resisted the lure of Beastmen for far too long now, i decided to have a go at making my own Beastlord, or whatever you call the biggest, stompiest specimen of the herd...

The WIPs are very basic, but you get the general idea :P

- Warpy

10-03-2010, 20:08
Looks really nice. I think you deffinetly need to give him big horns. As for any thing else.... I got nothing.

10-03-2010, 20:56
Wait... is he going to be a hippoman?

If so, I approve enormously.

11-03-2010, 21:04
Hey guys!

Nothing much, just an update of the Hairy one:

- Warpy

12-03-2010, 03:14
DUDE!! That is gonna be one bad ass beastlord... You should make a Doombull... Actually you have to make a doombull  Its been decided for you..

Oh and when i get the Abomb i will start painting right away and post pics here. If thats cool with you. to show off your work in its painted glory

Gork or Possibly Mork
12-03-2010, 06:42
Just catching up on this thread again. Great stuff.

Not real fond of the tiny wings LOC but otherwise it's excellent. I know that's what the client sent you but still it makes an otherwise brilliant piece look a little odd. As long as the client was happy with it though thats all that matters. Tbh I think thats the best LOC I've ever seen.

I really like the bone giant. Didn't like the staff but again client's preference.

Abomination is cool some things I like about it some things I don't. Regardless the sculpting is very good. I think you could make the head a little more Ratty it's kind of undead birdish at the moment. I don't like that he's so big that he's almost falling off of the base and I don't like the wheels position on his right side. Concept, pose, sculpting, details etc. are all brilliant though. Is that one still WIP?

That Nagash is awesome. Do you find it a pain working on the smaller stuff

Beast dude is interesting for sure.

One last thing. It's easy for me to sit here and critique stuff but I assure you my sculpting is no where near that good and probably never will be.
I think you have your poses down to a science they are so dynamic and your anatomy and proportions seems very sound as well. I know many people say it doesn't matter it's fantasy but it really makes a big difference if you base stuff on other real things then let your imagination and artistic freedom go wild. I mean thiers alot to learn about things in the real world ( anatomy and function of bone and muscle, gravity, how skin and cloth folds react etc. etc. All that certainly carries over into the fantasy realm and it seperates the men from the boys so to speak.

Anyway Amazing stuff man and your so young ( 17 or 18 IIRC ). Scary thought how good you will be say five or ten years from now.

12-03-2010, 12:08

What were you doing for a living again?

This is without a doubt the best lizardmen log on the internet, and you're one of the most skilled sculptors I've ever seen on a forum.

Your work is awe-inspiring; I take off my hat a thousand times in your general direction.

13-03-2010, 17:16
Thanks for all the great comments! :D

Anyway...just an update on the Beastlord:

Oh, but I think you do.

13-03-2010, 20:28

Simply stunning work - would you be accepting the sculpting job when GW offer it to you (as they surely must)?

A job offer? They havn't given it to me yet ;] Though im not sure if i would accept... i would haveto keep to a strict guideline, sculpt in their style and not my own, and... heaven forbid... i would haveto make space marines :|

Anyway, an update:

- Warpy

14-03-2010, 20:26
I know all you get is praise but i'm gonna have to give more of the same. Your work is of such an amazing standard its so hard to believe you are so young. Keep us posted!!

14-03-2010, 21:52
Very cool. What are you gonna do for armour for him?

You may want to try a job with reaper miniatures. I know they have their sculptures do all sorts of stuff and that doesn't commet a 100% sctulpting style and they have no space marines.

You should keep a record of all your sculpts and in the future submit to companies for work! From page 1 to 10 were filled with awesome images! Consider me awed!

that reminds so much of Wario! I would be so awesome to have a mario bros range of shagoths....

24-03-2010, 03:14
Love, love, love your work. the bone giant looks really good, as does that hellpit abomination, and Kholek seems to be coming in nicely.

and as i already mentioned earlier on the plog, very nice lizardmen army, especially that ominous looking slann.

24-03-2010, 03:57
Nice. I'm doing a shaggoth dragon ogre myself but wont have armour like kolec.

27-03-2010, 21:45
Hey guys!

Thing is.. i didnt actually know there WAS a piece of artwork to go with the character... so you can imagine how p*ssed i was to find it was nothing at all like the model I was making :P Hahaha... ahh well, iv tried to salvage it, and here is what iv got so far:

I'd imagined him more like a massive, knarled version of the GW dragon ogres... not TOO much armour, but with lots of thick scales and hide and such... but after looking at the artwork... I dont think it would suit the model if it was covered head to foot in armour... where would a 50 foot tall creature, alive since the beginning of time, manage to get a full suit of armour anyway? The guy im doing it for has given me quite alot of freedom with the sculpt (Thank Sotek :P ) so hopefully he should like it :]

I also have something a little bit different to show you...

Its my A level Fine Art exam in a month and a bit, and we have hadto pick a topic from a list set by the exam board to base a portfolio on, and eventually a final piece. Seeing a possible opportunity to include some of my sculpting, i decided on a topic called "Altering the Scale". For this, I decided to make a miniature based on the idea of a tiny gnome-like character living in a normal-sized world. This is what i have so far:

Still alot of work to do, but I hope you like it so far :]

Oh. I love that rat rider!
To cute^^

What is said gnome rider going to be doing to have him interacting with the world?

On the model itself, the rats fur needs a little more texturing and the riders feet need some scale work.

But I must say,Im loving the concept and execution

Might I suggest some scraps of torn paper or something as makeshift boots?

would seem a fair option for someone who scavenges...

Also id like to see more 'normal' sized things on him. To help emphasis the difference in size

28-03-2010, 05:30
Wow, all of this is great, and that rat rider is very creative and interesting, wanna see that finished!

28-03-2010, 09:24
Amazing sculpting work, I'm seriously speechless!

28-03-2010, 10:43
Wow I think I see a real rat under the sculpting instead of just a tin foil filler like your Kolek sculpt.

Joking^^ Im sure no rats were harmed during the making of that piece.

Awesome work.

28-03-2010, 11:52
The rat looks to much disney.. more EVIL!, big gnarled twisted teeth it should have.. =)

"I decided to make a miniature based on the idea of a tiny gnome-like character living in a normal-sized world."

^^I don't think an evil rat was quite the idea he was going for.

Love it
especially the feather painting and the diorama model !!

31-03-2010, 20:52
Thanks guys!

Not much of an update I'm afraid... i need various gubbins and such to complete the model... so im going to postpone it 'till i get the parts from the bloke ;)

Your shaggoth is turnning out better then mine. Keep it up.

08-04-2010, 19:30
Hey guys!

The Shaggoth has been put on hold due to pieces from the bloke not arriving yet... I have been working on something else... but thats a secret ;)

But here is something to keep you going... another commission: the start of a Slaanesh Warshrine

I know you cant really see it, but the 'zombies' i have 'de-zombifyied' so that they look like impaled slaves pulling the shrine onwards ;)

Hey guys!

Work has carried on with the warshrine, but nothing really picture-worthy yet...

But here is a little something that im working on... a little experiment...

The start of a Warplock Monkey! :D Its nowhere near finished, but its just a quick model im doing so i can practice casting... so nothing serious :P

I just love your amazing sculpts, from the giant Steg to the horrifying HPA, but Kholek, not so much...

While you have an amazing level of anatomic correctness and imaginative skill, Kholek's face is just horrible. The neanderthaler-look just doesn't fit him well, even the hunched pose feels wrong for me. Kholek is enormous, and his pride even greater, he would have his chin high up, because right now he looks like the old Chaos Ogres. IMO there is no reason why Dragon-Ogres should resemble Ogres at all, just the humanoid torso is enough. He looks more like the artwork of Throgg in the WoC book now.

If you are aiming for the Chaos Ogre look, than I can say you did a great job. The more venerable look is done well, but IMO it doesn't fit him, comparing it to the artwork of Shaggoths and Kholek himself, or the Model of the Shaggoth.

I'm sorry if I mocked your scultping skills or anything, I don't mean to, just that it doesn't seem like Kholek to me.

Good luck sculpting the lower body, but I'm sure you'll make it awesome, you have a gift crafting awesome lizards ;).

lol Love the hat :D

20-04-2010, 22:41
Hey guys!

The Warplock Monkey is finally finished! =D

And a new project is unveiled...

Hopefully when the new Orcs are released, I plan to start a NEW ARMY! *sparkle sparkle*...

I've had this idea for quite some time... to make Swamp Orcs! Half Savage, half Hillbilly, drinking and fighting in the swamps and marshes of Wherever-there-are-swamps-and-marshes-Land!

Anyway, I'm going to be making Voodoo a very prevalent part of the 'theme' of the army, with lots of bones and skull face paint and such. The main practitioner of which will be the tribal Shaman or Witchdoctor. Here is the idea i had for him:

I wanted real old-school Western Voodoo feel here, and i couldnt pass up sculpting an Orc with a tophat ;]

And yes, i am well aware he looks like he's'A FIRIN' DE LAZARRRRRRRRR ;]

So what do you guys think so far?

epic :D i want full pics :P

your work is pretty impressive. I'm especially a fan of your Lizardmen, I've been chasing them across google.

I am sculpting my own Slann on a massive palanquin and I'm interested in seeing how you managed to get your palanquin to fit with the temple guard unit. I don't suppose you could post some pics?

Also, I was under the impression that you constructed another Slann. do you have any WIP pictures of that one?

Sorry to resurrect an old topic for this thread, I find your work particularly inspiring.

Wow, you have gotten some wicked modeling skills. I am Very impressed on your convertions, specially on the Arcanodon with engine of the gods.

Also I find it pretty cool that you used a colour scheme very similar to mine, which means another host of Tepok. The power of the Tepok hosts grow in strenght!

Your firespitting snake seems awesome, to explore more on the deepths of lustria. Please check my blog, I would really like to hear your opinion on my minis.

21-04-2010, 07:54
This is completely awesome!

Are there any wip pics of the coatlasaur being built?
Half the pleasure is seeing the conversions taking shape.

the idea rocks, this + your sculpting skills =marvellous miniatures... looking forward to see more updates

Don't you disrespect me, puny humie!
Don't you derogate, or deride.
You're in my WAAAGH! now, not your WAAAGH!
And I got friends on the other side. (http://www.disneylicious.com/i_03/dr_facilier_pose_001.jpg)

I look forward to seeing some voodoo-doll Snotlings.

Whether that's animated dolls counting as snotlings, or snotlings with pins stuck in them, you decide.

Swamp-squigs. A Shaman has one done up like a black rooster.
River Trolls with ridiculous numbers of piercings and lots of bodypaint.
Savage Orcs by the pound.
Not sure how you'll fit in zombies, but I look forward to it.

I immediatly thought of Baron Samedi from James Bond

This will be an awesome army for positive

I feel... so inadequate.

This is some really great stuff, i can't wait for more!

25-04-2010, 01:19
Like the idea for the orcs. Can't wait to see updates.

25-04-2010, 22:10
Revilid: Oooh! Thanks for the ideas man! I shall have them in mind... who needs gobbos when you have zombies? ;]

Nothing much to report im afraid chaps... the main thing im working on is a surprise, so alas you will haveto be sated with just updates on my Voodoo Orc Shaman ;)

26-04-2010, 20:45
Hey guys!

Nothing much, just a quick update... as the Voodoo Orc was drying he "somehow" fell over, which has nothing to do with my desperate graspings for my phone due to a text i may add... *cough* :P But anyway, in a nutshell, i changed the arms around a bit, so tell me what you think guys! An improvement?

I like the new pose better. Perhaps make his right hand holding somesort of lizard or snake?

26-04-2010, 22:17
Yeah a most definate improvement. The face is looking brilliant by the way.
I think take the right arm out a bit. Get some nice symmetry going with the left arm.

27-04-2010, 04:23
This blog just keeps getting better and better!

27-04-2010, 20:00
I need to take more advice from you more. Looks really awsome. Keep it up.

28-04-2010, 13:45
To be honest, I think I preferred the old pose - more Orky to my mind. If he's got something like a snake or pendant or magical glowy thing or shrunken head or furious squig or voodoo sith lightning in the staffless hand, that'd go some way toward making it beter.

05-05-2010, 16:53
I wanted real old-school Western Voodoo feel here, and i couldnt pass up sculpting an Orc with a tophat ;]

I can understand that, my own goblin warboss is supposed to have one too (well the design is heavily stol- herm, borrowed from a character in an anime), but I keep posponing making him >>

06-05-2010, 01:34
I've scoured this log from start to finish, and what can I say that hasn't already been said? Your work is amazing. The Slann with the hookah is my personal favourite, but everything is incredible!
You should sculpt for GW. Heaven knows you could do better than some of the stuff they put out.

07-05-2010, 21:25
Hey guys!

Sorry for the lack of updates really... its nearing the end of the year, and I have exams at the end of the month, so things have been pretty hectic in Real Life (tm)!

Anyway, a 'just-about-almost-nearly finished' Voodoo Orc...

Notice the Cockerel Squig? ;)

And I have a little piece of un-related goodness...

But you'll haveto read the post below... goddamn picture limits :P

ithis is amazing. sorry to break the combo- but its immense.

07-05-2010, 21:26

Carrying on with my AS Level Fine Art course, under the topic "Altering Scale", we were given 5 hours to come up with a piece of work. No more, no less. So, I came up with this thing. A female warrior riding a giant Flea ( hence the altering scale... gettit?). Im kind of pleased with the outcome, though I know i could have done a far far better job if I had been given more time :/

So whatdya think guys?

Anyway, here are some close ups of the flea rider, and some pics of the second War Shrine (yes i know the flag pole is bent, thats fixed now =P) :
