Thinking about getting back into dwarfs and wanted to try something like this out.

CHARACTERS

Dwarf Lord (general)
- Great Weapon
- Rune of Gromril
- Rune of Spite
= 221pts

Thane (BSB)
- Swiftness/cleaving/fury
- Rune of Stone
= 165pts

Runesmith
- Great Weapon/shield
- Balance/Spellbreaker
= 151pts

Dragon Slayer
= 50pts

CORE

18 Longbeards
***BSB and runesmith here***
- Full Command
- Rune of Courage
- Shields
= 271pts

10 Crossbowmen
- Shields
= 120pts

10 Crossbowmen
- Shields
= 120pts

SPECIAL

19 Hammerers

- Full Command
- Shields
= 277pts

Bolt Thrower
- Engineer
- Rune of Penetration
= 85pts

Bolt Thrower
- Engineer
= 60pts

Cannon
- Rune of Forging
= 125pts

10 Slayers
= 110pts

RARE

Organ Gun
= 120pts

Organ Gun
= 120pts

TOTAL POINTS = 1995pts

Dispel Dice - 6 (steals one power dice) + 1 spell breaker

The idea is the 2 main combat blocks will be supported by the slayers. The dragon slayer will hang back and protect my war machines and crossbows.

Anyone like the list?

give him SB and you are good to go, seriously best 25 points spend in the book, immune to killing blow (being US 3) +1 armour saves, extra attacks, and depending on group don't count a mount so still get +2S from your GW! rune of stone is also a good idea! I'd also think about swiching your rune of spite to the BSB as its more usefull there!

Thane (BSB)
- Swiftness/cleaving/fury
- Rune of Stone
= 165pts
not a good idea, dwarfs need there BSBs survivable not fansy, best set up is prob MRo Gromril, R of presivation, R of stiking/cleaving giving you a survivabe set up, yep he won't much dammage but he will keep the rest of the dwarfs in the fight rather than dieing!

Runesmith
- Great Weapon/shield
- Balance/Spellbreaker
= 151pts
Good!

Dragon Slayer
= 50pts
Good!

CORE

Good, though stoicism might be better here? your unlikely to fail the leadership check so stocism allows you to out number the energy weather they cause fear or not

Both good, though a unit of thunders might be an idea?
SPECIAL

maybe drop a few, you are stubborn so you don't need all the numbers

Great pair, maybe look at sticking burning on the 2nd for the anti regeneration (as well as makeing it magic)
Cannon
- Rune of Forging

Good!

I prefer miners rather than slayers, hammerers providing my solid flank, the board edge the other

I absolutely hate the concept of the shieldbearers and tend to favour the lord on foot (love all the variety of models as well).

I may try and slide a gyro into the list. Sounds like a good idea.
