suspect its a unit of croxxbows to many, may drop one unit for a master to beef up the COK's and perhaps give them the always strikes first banner so they can put the hurt on stuff that charges them or incase they go stupid

Not bad, but I reckon a dragon would be better. Manticore sorcs tend to get shot down pretty fast.

Level 2 Sorceress @ 175 Pts

Tome of Furion

Fine.

10 Dark Elf Repeater Crossbowmen @ 100 Pts

Drop 1 sqaud for a dragon.

20 DE warriors @ 135 Pts

5 Harpies @ 55 Pts

Drop 1 squad for the rest of the points towards the dragon, then use the remaining ones for shields on the RXB's.

7 shades, great weapons @ 126 Pts

Odd number, but fine.

6 Cold One Knights @ 229 Pts
Champ standard
standard of slaughter

I personally run these guys 'naked', with no upgrades at all, but this should be fine for this list. Consider the ASF banner.

The list I think is pretty good for a first shot. The only thing you are missing is a squad of DR, but that shouldn't matter too much.

well I don't have any dark riders as of yet hence I didn't make a list with them, a naked unit of cold ones is tempting 9 points more than the shades, as for the dragon I was worryed I had lost parts of it or it had been damaged but I found all the parts to it today so it may go back into the list

actually playing with the idea of getting a second manticore as an idea as well

Honestly, I rather like the list as is. You could certainly move points around enough to fit a Dragon into the army, but Dragons are (in my experience) tremendously boring.

If I was to change anything, I'd remove a unit of Crossbowkin in favor of a small unit of Corsairs (as a screen/escort/redirection unit), or an Assassin to bolster your Warrior unit.

I know people have argued in favour of the dragon, but I'm going to go the other way and say take a Dark Pegasus instead of the Manticore. Manticores are very fragile (not that pegs are particularly tough...) and are large targets, so they'll attract a lot of shooting without being able to handle it very well. If I take a dragon, or a fighty beast like a manticore, then I want it doing just that- fighting as much as possible, which is at odds with what I want my mages doing. Just my twopence though.

Keep in mind that, with the addition of the Focus Familiar, his Supreme Sorceress can quite handily engage in close combat while being able to cast her spells. In this instance, the two aren't mutually exclusive. Furthermore, the Manticore is more a tool for breaking ranks than carving up whole units head-on. It's very effective in that role, but has enough vulnerability that it can still be countered by things other than War Machines.

well I'm fairly sure I can do the dragon and the peg if needed, though I can rop a unit of harpys, a unit of xbows and a shade for a master on a manticore
