Howdie,

As the title reads, which unit would you miss most, fluffwise, from your army book(s) if it wasn't included in a newer edition and why?

For me, I would miss the doom divers most even though I have hardly used them! The description that came with the 5th edition OnG book still makes me laugh today (Goblins wrapped in cushions!).

What about the rest? :cheese:

Silver Helms.

They suck terribly in comparison to Dragon Princes.. but their fluff is pretty awesome.

Saurus. I mean, if they took the Lizardmen out of the Lizardmen book we'd be left with frogs, small lizards (Skinks), and some dinosaurs.

Fanatics.

They basically sum up orcs and goiblins in one spinning ball of random death :D

I'd be pretty upset if they removed Empire Halberdiers. Nothing says Empire like a man in hose with a feather in his hat and no shoes waving a really long axe and stumbling backwards in fear.

I would not miss Night Runners or Skavenslaves, though, no sir.

I would mourn the passing of the Bloodthirster if it were to be removed in future editions. It is probably one of the most hated things on scene at the moment but I find the imagery of Khorne's titans of war quite awesome and striking. The artwork in the 6th edition Hordes of Chaos book help as well. :)

I think if bloodthirster were dropped I'd at first feel it was too bad and then do a happy dance for the rest of the week :p

Ushabti.

If you're going to get shot to pieces mercilessly and without question, you may as well look damn good doing it.

Slayers, theres just something about those crazy lunatics that I love.

Orc boyz.
Dunno, but for some reason the 'Orcs and Goblins' army would miss half the fun without orcs.

Weird thing, it seems to be the same for gobbo's, though :p

Dwarf Slayers - best fluff in Dwarves, but not so good game mechanics.

Pike, Halflings, Imperial Ogres, Galloper Guns, War Wagons :p

Okay, I'm cheating. Of all the things today?

1. Maneaters
2. Pistoliers

They could certainly take away spearmen, swordsmen and rockets as long as they give me pike instead.

slayers. They kick ass in the backround and they suck in the game. But i still like them.

I think technically its the fact they're sling shotting a cast iron cauldron filled with boiling water that makes it a suprisingly legitimate WMD, but I take your point.

Dwarf Hammerers? I mean what says dwarf like a bunch of stuborn shorties attacking people with hammers, KNEECAP THE FOOLS

I also wouldn't be able to scream "IT'S HAMMER TIME FOOL" evertime they got to combat

Hahahahaha, Fantastic.

I absolutely agree with everybody who said Slayers and Fanatics so far. I also would miss Doom Divers, now that I think about it, just about anything in the Orc and Goblin codex, I love the sheer chaos and randomness that is the O&G Codex.

Dragon Princes, Waywatchers or Phoenix Guard.

The models and fluff for all three units epitomises Elvish skill and awesomeness.

Konrad Von Carstein - His fluff is just too awesome in my opinion
