Hello all,

Its official, New Blood Angel Codex in April 2010 (please see official GW email below, recieved today):

Incoming! Blood Angels

This April the Blood Angels will be re-launched with an all-new Codex and range of plastic and metal miniatures. One of the oldest and noblest of all Space Marine Chapters, the Blood Angels have stood fast against the enemies of the Imperium since the Great Crusade and it was their Primarch Sanguinius, who laid down his life to aid the Emperor against Horus in the final hours of the Warmaster’s rebellion. The new Codex explores the background and history of these superhuman warriors like never before, and contains new artwork depicting some of their greatest battles and most powerful champions.

The Blood Angels have always been a powerful close combat army and have been made even deadlier thanks to a range of specialist wargear, the ability to field Assault Squads as Troops choices, and more Dreadnoughts than any other Space Marine Chapter, including a Death Company Dreadnought and the fabled Furioso Dreadnought. The Sons of Sanguinius will be deep striking onto a tabletop near you this April – now’s the time to practice painting red.

Yes Yes Yes, now lets hope they don't make a mess of this codex, and thast the BAs are even more deadly than the SWs............

We could turn this thread into a wish list thread. Thats a good idea, I will go first...

I think the blood angels will be the fleet marine codex that people have been talking about with movement being key for these guys.

hmmm let me see.
I think all Blood Angels will get +1 to strength on the charge but that is it (no extra I)
So fleet and devastating assault (made up name).
As space wolves get 4 HQ slots I think blood angels will get 4-6 fast attack slots.

1 or more units in every slot in the FOC could effectively deep strike. Not sure what the heavy slot will have but I bet its some crazy assault squad with 4 assault weapons or some kind of flyer.
Dante will be able to take veteran assault squads at troops.
Scouts will remain elite.
I think Death Company will be picked in the normal way but you can take 1 squad per chaplain or corblo. I think they will get very expensive with extras but work the same way.
rhinos will gain assault ramps but not razorbacks.

Thats all I can think of a the moment but I think that sounds good

from what i have heard it's not just the blood angles that are going to be redone dark angles and another chapter is also going to be done. in the same codex

And very OP. Personaly I would see Assault Devastators being able to take 4 meltagun or 4 plasma gun, have free meltabombs, etc. That would fit better. But then, I doubt we'd ever see them in a book, lol.

All Marine heavy weapons are either backpack fed or massive units normally carried by terminators. Kind of hard to fit a Jump pack over top the power supply.

One of the things that wasn't so popular about the last Blood Angel list was turning them into pseudo-Khorne Berzerkers with furious charge and 'roll a 1 to go kill-frenzy-mental' rules, so I'd expect those to go away. Blood Angels are still disciplined troops, not a frothing rabble.

Damm you GW. I get all prepped for 'Nids to replace my DA's and now I think I'll expand the DA's and resurrect my own Angels of Death Codex :) Might be a good time to start making dioramas, all the shiny models I like.

I don't know what will be in the latest codex, but I hope its better than the one published in White Dwarf. I would like to see a return of Furious Charge for everyone, but I doubt thats going to happen.
