View Full Version : Pre-Heresy Emperor's Children - Ideas?

Hey all! I've been spending most of my time working on my Emperor's Children warband, the Raptuous Progeny. However, I'm currently reading Fulgrim and the EC are as of now my favorite legion. That being said, I'd like to start a pre-Heresy EC army as a side-project while taking breaks from my Chaos warband. Any suggestions on modeling them up and other things of the sort?
(On a side note, I just might take a dive into the new BA that are coming out soon if I can't get my EC idea off the ground.)

There's a really good entry within the painting section of a guy's Pre-heresy EC army. It's really sweet, he modeled up a young fabius and lucius and everything.

Astartes Jetbikes! No pre-Heresy army is complete without them! ;)

HMmm, honestly the EC are the easiest pre heresy army to do... Get ahold of the artbook for ideas, helps a ton...

Yeah, you need the Horus Heresy - Collected Visions book, it is fantastic.

And I found this a while back, and bookmarked it for future reference.

I'll see if I can get my hands on it, then!
That's a pretty neat conversion tutorial. It'll be helpful if I decide to use bikes. I also took a look at the Pre-Heresy blog on Warseer (I forget the user's name) and that's provided lots of inspiration.
I just have some questions about the actual 'purple' of the armor. On all the models I've seen people do, it's usually a darker purple, like liche purple. However, on a lot of the artwork I've seen, the purple is sometimes brighter in color, more of a pink, like warlock purple.
Some examples:

Is there any version that's more 'correct' over the other?
