I am a newbie to the 40k universe, and i was hoping to have an understanding of what models or conversions people have used/created in fielding the Space Wolf Cav.

If you have any advise or ideas, please let me know.

I haven't done anything myself, but I do know that many people use the lions from the high elf chariot box. All they need is a more bushy tail and a beard trim, which are very basic conversions. Ideally a better mane and altered saddle for marines would also help.

I have some lions unused form my chariots if you need some pics of them unassembled I should be able to sort them.

ive got a daemon juggernaught, the old chaos marine juggernaught, and i'm trying to get hold of the warhammer chaos lord juggernaught.

Once i have all three gonna try out the 12" of green stuff i have, using the juggers as a sort of buked out model frame, and go from there.

a biker marine wedged onto a slice of cheeder should do.

but, on a more serious note, the hardest part seems to be finding an appropriate mount. I believe there is an older thread over in the mp&t section devoted to this issue.

There are quite a few discussions on this topic. Run a quick search and you will find all maner of ideas for Thunderwolf Cavalry. There are also alot of links to websites selling 28mm scale wolves on the other threads.

Your thread would be better off in the modelling forum where theres this thread on this very same subject.

dire wolves and space wolves. put the legs in hot water so they can bend and bend them around the dire wolf torso. the skin flaps on the vampire counts dire wolves make for an admirable saddle.
