I was searching in the codex, when I came across the army list and the stats. When I was looking at the stats, I did not know what the letters meant, so I came to this website. If anyone knows what those letters mean, please tell me. Ex.) WS, BS, S, T, W, I, A, Ld, Sv.

You may want to invest in the main rulebook before you start "searching in the Codex". All of these terms are defined therein.

Just buy this book, read it, and everything should make sense:

http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat200190&prodId=prod1400018

I know its really expensive, but when they say that its "ultimate and essential" in the product description, they really mean it. By the way, which codex did you get?

Weapon Skill
Ballistic Skill
Strength
Toughness
Wounds
Initiative
Attacks
Leadership
Save

But yeah, man, buy the rulebook, eh? You won't get far without it and folks around here won't generally take the time to explain stuff to you if you're not willing to invest in the game itself and learn on your own at least a little bit.

Buy it cheap(ish) on e-bay. You really need the book to play 40K. Without one youŽll be blundering through your games, making errors left and right.

Other than that, IŽm sure it doesnŽt hurt forum policy to say that
WS = Weapon Skill, BS = Ballistic Skill, S = Strenght, T = Toughness, W = Wounds, I = Initiative, A = Attacks, Ld = Leadership, Sv = Save.

Ninjad, but at least not as bad as DeadlySquirrel!

im gonna throw the dog a bone here...

Weapons skill, balistics skill, strength, toughness, wounds, initiative, attacks, leadership, armour save in that order.

WS is how skilled your guy is in a close up fight, using baynottes, swords etc
BS is his aim
S is his strength in close combat
Toughness is his resistance to damage
W is like lives, you run out, you die
I is his speed ie who strikes first in CC
A is how many attacks he has in CC
Ld is his mental strength... will he run away if he's loosing a fight? etc
Sv is his armour, a 4+ means that on a d6 (six sided dice) if he scores 4 or above when someone wounds him, his armour shrugs it off and he doesnt loose a wound

Ninja'd. Curse you =p

If you're just getting started and don't have a rulebook yet, go to the Games Workshop website, Specialist Games, Specialist Games Resources, and download a copy of the Necromunda Rulebook.

Necromunda is based on Warhammer 40k, but it was written in an old edition and has some more complicated rules, so it's a bit outdated. That said, all the characteristics are the same, so Necromunda would give you a pretty good idea of how the game works.
