Just recieved the following email, having subscribed to the Fanatic email shots when they did them. Thought it might deserve wider dissemination, and I'll certainly be signing back up for it.

Hello from Andy Hall at Fanatic!

The reason you are receiving this email is because a few years back you were subscribed to the Fanatic newsletter – an august electronic organ used by Jervis Johnson to keep you informed of events at Fanatic and the Specialist Games range as well as confound you with his lengthy musings.

You may have noticed you haven’t received such a newsletter in quite some time. This is because the newsletter was superseded by Fanatic magazine, which in turn was replaced by the Specialist Games website and Fanatic Online.

Don’t worry we will not be spamming up your inbox after such a long time of silence. I am simply writing to inform you that from Friday the 17th of February (that’s tomorrow at the time of writing), if you so wish, you will be able to receive Fanatic Online as a weekly newsletter. To do this simply visit www.specialist-games.com and place your email address in the box in the right hand column.

If you no longer wish to receive such emails, then do not worry you will not get anymore from us and the database of the previous Fanatic newsletter will be erased after this last email has been sent.

All the best,
Andy @ Fanatic

Meh, I always check the Fanatic Online page anyway, so nothing really exciting.

EDIT: Oh, I'm subscribed too, it seems. All right, then...

I havent seen this even mentioned anywhere on the Fanatic site itself, but why should I expect to, even tho it would make perfect sense. I've moved and blown up my previous computer so I dont think I'll be seeing one of these emails for myself. Really I just dont get how halfa**ed the SGs/fanatics are nowadays, even trying to get info on their release schedule is like lugging a boulder up a mountain with my bicycle. Its one thing to be underfunded but its another thing to not even be able to type in a few pertinate details for the SG forums in a timely manner.

Yay!

I can now recieve emails to tell me that "this month we have stopped this mini. No discussion."

Psst, look for the area of text (admittedly not exactly highlighted that well) on their site that says:-
"To be sent the Fanatic Online newsletter every Friday simply add your email address in the box below. ";)

Ow, and they call me a cynic. But yeah, if they're going to be doing a weekly newsletter, I'd be peeved if they didn't have some actual news to report. So far, all we've got is olds.

And they would discuss thier business decisions with you why?

My point was you can now get it in email form rather than read it on their announcements page...

Am I the only one who gets a "Web site not responding (Error 502)" page up when clicking subscribe?

Funny, I signed up and the response I got was: "thank you for booking passage on the Titantic--I mean thank you for climbing on board this melting iceberg"--I got an error message and I'm not sure it worked.
