One of my opponents wants to do a campaign were you start with 200 points and get experience as you go along, and in fact there is an old set of rules from GW that he wants to use.

This is all well and good but I forgot what it is called

Does anyone have an idea what these rules were called so I can, you know, read the rules before I play ;)

Nope, it wasn't a seperate system, it was still fantasy.

It was kind of like combat patrol for 40k except it was for fantasy and had experience and a campain attached to it.

Path to Glory (though it's chaos only)? Warbands (mmh, not sure units evolve in warbands, though, never played it)?

My crew has played a lot of small games under the warbands composition rules,
but we didn't do the campain part where your character can gain experience...

I think there might still be a pdf floating around the internet some where,
perhaps in warhammers archives..?

Well, I have it, it was a legal d/l from the GW website, but I'm not sure if I'd be allowed to put it as an attachment.

yes its a shame that getting THE rules might get you branded as a PIRATE and you could get send of the guantanomo (Hmm not even sure if I spelled that right) BAY.

I'd try finding it legally somewhere in a second hand shop or something

If it's not on the new GW site you can probaly find through an archive of the old GW site.
