Welcome to my Legion of Everblight Plog!

Firstly, let me say that I am new to the world of Privateer Press games and through this Plog i will try to impress you with my minis:shifty: (and some subliminal messageing sent through hidden soundwaves activated simply by your viewing this thread):shifty:

I will try to keep you updated as to current painting project i am currently undergoing and will endeavour to update this plog as often as possible.

So, without further ado...

Lylyeth- this is the first privateer press figure i painted, I've had mixed success with her and she is currently enjoying a nice break and well deserved holiday after all the sweat, blood and tears she has shead in the name of Everblight http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k146/cyberste/ebay-021.gif

Vayl, The icy bitch with a sneer! i am in the proceeds of trying to get the best out of her. So far her win record surpasses her losses but seeing as she's only been on the table top 3 times, theres still time to rectify that, I'm still not convinced with her as she dosn't really suit my preferred play style.. still, i am pleased with the end result. i tried something different with her when i painted the mini. as the artwork i looked at showed her wearing very thin almost voil type material, i tried to reflect that on the areas that would allow it. So her chest, stomach and right shoulder were painted as if normal Nyss skin then glazed over a couple of times with the base colour of the dress beneath her cloak. i am very pleased with the final result.

Here are my solo's...
http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k146/cyberste/ebay-023.gif
This is my Shepherd, Ba-Baa!. I dunno why, but this is my fave mini so far. She was an absolute. joy to paint!

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k146/cyberste/ebay-030.gif
My forsaken, aka "Chipmonk". A disappointing miniature, thought it wold have been a bit bigger. i will get another one but i'll get a spare Absylonia right arm for it so the two aren't exactly the same.

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k146/cyberste/ebay-024.gif
My Totem hunter- Twas a birthday prezzie of a mate. but to make it more alien to the rest of my warband i decided to paint it a normal flesh tone:)

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k146/cyberste/ebay-032.gif
http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k146/cyberste/ebay-033.gif
My warmonger Warchief, (Name undecided). He's not quite finished yet, just a few little bits left to do. He has salvaged some Circle of Orboros armour!! The pics a little blurry around his head, soz. (must be some kind of psychic field)

Some Swordsme....Nyss!!

Abbot, aka "Lippy McChin" and champion aka "Chinney McChin"

And now the warbeasts that i have painted.
http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k146/cyberste/ebay-027.gif
My little babies,Squatter, Grinner, Nosedive and Cock-leg! I love these guys and think they are underated. The one on the Right is a bit of a joke and the source of much joking, but i wanted to have at least one looking as though its clawing at the enemy, even though it normally looks like he's getting a kick in the goolies when he gets that close.

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k146/cyberste/ebay-025.gif
http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k146/cyberste/ebay-026.gif
My Carnivean. The first warbeast i painted. I call him Sir, and you should too!
I'm not a great fan of painting big miniatures, and this i know could have been better. But i suppose i'll have to get used to them coz my Scythean is on its way soon. He told me on the phone earlier that i should call him Boss!! so thats what i'm gonna do!

I have an Angelius and Raek on my windowsill waiting the loving touch of my brushes, so i'll post their piccies when they are done. Also, Absolynia is crying out to be finished too. i also have 4 harriers awaiting construction in my drawer beside the warlock twins Rhyas and Saeryn.

Nice stuff so far - your Shepherd especially stands out, as do the off-the-wall poses of your Shredders :p

A bit off-topic, but could you maybe head over to the Privateer Press section here and put some of your Vayl experience in the Legion suggestion thread there? She's one of our casters I think benefits from as much recorded experience as possible.

Other that than, I'll be watching this log - always glad to see more Legion on the forums :)

Thanks guys.
Its always nice to have some good feedback, though critisism is also welcome alongside suggestions too, so feel free to be critical too!

I would be happy to, Loveless, though a link to the appropriate thread would help make sure i put my rantings on the right one. Cheers.

looking good :), i am starting legion as well so ther more legion plogs the better :D

one thing is that the pics look a little dark?, i am not sure how you might make them a little brighter but alot of the detail is lost in the darkness of the pics :) (or it might just be my computor...)

They were actually given an outing to the back yard coz the light was beter than in the house and stood on a polystyrene box. But then the sun hid behind some clouds...... as it does, and so some are slightly darker than others.

Cheers for the comment

Very nice minis!

I like how you have putten a bit more blue into the studio scheme. The Nyss look especially good with that scheme. The brownish scales/plates on the warbeasts also look real good.

My minds eye tells me that Everblight was a white dragon, Frosty and cold. I see his blight as being a cold blue, hence the Nyss and warbeast hue.
But now he has absorbed Pyromalfics (a fire dragon-Orange/red) i imagine his athanc will have changed colour, so warbeasts spawned from him would be slighly different hue, whilst still being mainly white.
Thats my idea though!

Nice concept - especially since you have pulled off very well :) Just a stray thought: Would that mean that Typhon (if you ever get around to him) will be predominantly orangy/red, given he has such a large component of Pyromalfic in him?

Quite possibly;)
That would take a bit of experimenting till i get the colour right as i still see Everblights being the dominant colour. This colour scheme may also be applied to any other warbeasts that i deem worthy of a Thagrosh spawning, and possibly of any warlocks he recruited after the athanc amalgamation.
We shall see.

Oh, my warmonger war chief is finished so the pics will be up in the next few days, hopefully with a finished Absolynia

Heres some work in progress shots of my Raek. This is the side thats been tidied up, Still two more highlights to go on the flesh, and a bit more to go on the boney bits!
http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k146/cyberste/IMG_0069.jpg

This is the messy side, still more tidying up to do here yet. It just goes to show how messy i am when i start painting a mini:D

Enjoy.

I'll post finished results along with my Angelius when they're done.

Well, I know this plog has been dormant for a while due to RL and various injuries but I have once again been able to get a few minutes to pick up a paint loaded brush and will hopefully have a couple of minis finished and uploaded pics for your perusal before long.
Its been a while since i had a game, and now i have my new Mkii rulebook to read through too.
Soz for the long wait to all those that have looked on here and posted their comments, but i am back in business once again..... Kids permitting!

Wow.. nice paint job on the those guys.. am really digging the blues there.. what is the recipe that you are using on them?

Not to sure on the carapace bits only cause the skin looks so good in comparison..

Cheers

Cheers Grisnik. I Basecoat with the P3 underbelly blue over a black undercoat, then mix P3 turquoise and blue ink to 2/1 ratio with a dab of mixing medium and 2 parts water and then give it a good wash, when this is dry i then highlight up from a 1/1 mix of underbelly/menoth white, menoth white then to pure white. It can be a bit time consuming but its worth it.

As for the bony carapaces, they differ on all my beasts coz i want an element of differance with them relying on the skin to tie in with the rest of the force.

Well its been a while in the coming, and painting, as I have to grab what little time I have spare to pick up a brush. But here is Everblights greatest creation, Typhon.

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k146/cyberste/1.gif

http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k146/cyberste/3.gif

As I said before, I have not had a great deal of time for painting so he was a bit rushed. I am, however pleased with the scales and bony bits.
If you notice his tail has been turned around as I never liked the way it was before. It made him look more like a cowering puppy than the fearsome beast he is supposed to be.

I also dropped him when i'd finished him and the joint at his tail cracked. but i don't think it shows too badly whre I touched it up.
Hope you like.

But all said and done I think its ok, not my best work.

Thanks, Keravin. Its amazing what a bit of brown ink and yellow paint can do. I must say that red is one of my fave colours to paint.

Onto other things though, I know thy're not the greatest pics in the world and i will hopefully, at a later date, post sme better ones.
