Hey, i'm not that knowlegable (sp?) on dark elves but surely the hydra is just going to get left behind?

yeah, but that probably ok. I can hold a flank on it's own and will probably take a lot of attention away from the rest of the list.

How is this list balanced?
There is less than 400 points in core, 800 points in rare and special, and over 600 points in characters.
A balanced tournament army should contain 25% characters, 25% rare/special, and the rest in core. You could also try to integrate a theme such as all infantry or all shooting (which will probably removed in the new rules) or all cav, or based on some historical army.
The 3 magic users are not exactly balanced either.

lol I'm going with "it depends on what is and isn't allowed in the Tournament" and also "when WE say balanced, we mean we're going to kill you EFFICIENTLY and not SLOWLY and PAINFULLY":D:rolleyes:

He IS right tho- you don't need that 3rd non-caddy caster, since she doesn't have Tome or Black Staff. Maybe adding ManBane to your sins and buking up some other forces?

Your Hydra won't get left behind unless it's against Dwarves or something fast moving. If it's stunties, it's because they set it on fire in round 1. if it's a fast mover, you're moving to flank.

that's going to be a really rough list to play... any sort of magic missile or shooting that gets though will most likely butcher whole units, especially if your opponent is wise enough to focus fire. Without any solid block units, it is also going t be hard to stand ground and take out larger block units as well.

How many rares can you have in 2k or are the BT two for one? I agree this list will get destroyed by any decent opponent.

The shades with their very expensive character will get shot to pieces or just assaulted away pretty quickly.
You have alot of magic which isn't all that balanced, but atleast you didn't take a lvl4 as well.
This whole army is going to destroy any light shooting units or warmachines but will falter against anything else.
Unless you can completely take out every warmachine and shooting unit in turn one the hyrda will go quickly and the COK are next on the list (if not first)
Against big troop blocks or tarpit units only the hydra stands a chance of winning but after a combat or two it will get flanked and go down quickly.
Whats the point of the master? He has none of the cool magic items...in fact he has no magic items. Sounds like you are just using him to waste points? Try it on a good spear unit or maybe some elite infantry.
The first sorc without a steed is going to go into the xbox men yes? That unit will get taken out pretty quickly as well.
