What size base should he be on square bases ogre sized or the larger one?

I guess the 50mm monster base is the correct one.
After all, it's the one used for juggernauts, archaon's mount...

50mm square, one step larger than an ogre base (40mm).

EDIT: Ninja'd...

I have seen them mounted on both 40mm and 50mm bases, I don't think it is going to make much of a difference game wise. Personally I would go with the 50mm, simply on aesthetics.

He should be mounted on a 50mm as IIRC all Chaos other than marauders are.

All characters on any sort of monstrous mounts are supposed to be on a 50mm base (with a couple rare exceptions being larger, but not smaller).

So, is it a monstrous mount? I can't remember and don't have the WoC book here.

It is not a monstrous mount, it is a normal mount. But as it is said in the WoC book that the base size is 50mm x 50mm you should go with that.

That is wrong, all Chaos infantry units (except Ogres, Trolls etc.) are on 25mm bases.

It is a daemonic steed/mount. All daemonic steeds except the steed of slaanesh (which is on a cav base due to it being fast cav) are on 50mm bases but are considered regular cavalry mounts.

Amusingly, in 8th edition they are Monstrous Cavalry, so Discs get Stomp attacks! :D

It's 50mm, which is the safest to go in terms of arguments and it's the one the metal disc rider comes with.

Disc of Tzeentch used Stomp!

It's not very effective...
