I've just realised how nasty empire will be in the 8th Ed, their magic will be a force to be reckoned with.

so many bound spells not misscasting and always getting off, lots of added dispel dice which should counter the 1d6/2d6 dispel/power dice imbalance.

2 warriors priests, 2 wizzards and an archlector as heroes/lords.

cannons/mortars/rocket batteries as special/rare

then just horde the infantry with nice sizeable detachments too.

Sure their infantry is weak but their magic and shooting will be nasty as hell.

I think Empire will fair well also because their characters are cheap cheap cheap. So they can spread some leadership around besides the general. It seems with the new edition Empire will become much closer to a 'historical' army imo with various sub commanders and not be the nancy running boys they used to so easily be.
