Has anyone seen Catachan models painted up as anything other than jungle fighters?

Like maybe urban warfare or desert raiders?

I'm just wondering how they'd look. Hook me up with some photos or links if you know of some.

Thanks.

I have some that I use as Penal Legionnaires. They're painted up in orange prison outfits and have tubes sticking out of their necks.

The 2nd and 3rd edition codexes had some interesting variant colour schemes (and I think there are also some in the 5th edition book), including a wierd purple camo pattern at one point.

I've got the 2nd and 3rd Ed Codex's... I'll have to check those out. I didn't really see anything in the 5th Dex. There are maybe one or two in there, but mixed in with the rest, you can't really tell a difference.

My catachans wear urban camo, to match my Cadians, and look pretty competent. For Catachans, anyway.

Someone at my local store painted their skin black and their clothes white and orange, then proceeded to give the rest of his men white armor....I'm not gonna lie it is both hilarious, and racist at the same time. Oddly enough the whities are painted like **** and the darkies are painted super pro.

... I'm missing the joke, clearly.

My aborted Catachan army was wearing black fatigues (They were a urban/nightworld regiment) it looked quite neat...shame the models were so sub-par.
I would do it again but the Crapachans are still in circulation and (although an improvement) the Command Squad is still quite poor leaving me to build the entire army using the heavy weapon guys which is expensive to say the least. :/

If I'd ever get my hands on a pretorian guard squad, I'd probably play them as a platoon with Chenkov and then add 50 catachan conscripts, with the trousers to match the uniforms and the shirts striped color/white like some old circus troupe muscle men. All finished off with moustaches :-)

I had a plan at one point to paint them up in denim (i.e, blue jeans) and white tank tops and run a Lasgun Factory shop crew defending their turf. Add in a few pick up trucks as sentinels and it'd be hilarious...

Hi there,

I've done my humie mercs as african types in desert fatigues. Boonie hats in Milliput, las guns converted to carbines by cutting off the flash supressor, and glueing on top for an optical sight.

@Montserrat & Moriarty:

Those are both pretty awesome looking. Thanks for the photos.

See, I bought all Cadians but my buddy threw two battalion boxes of Catachans at me. I'm all for more dudes, but I really wondered about the 'visual synergy' of the two forces.

By the looks of both of your examples, I think it has the potential to turn out pretty slick.

Any other examples?

Probably fitting then that I use an actual ganger model as Srgt Harker

I had a similar problem. I solved it by combining pieces to make my veterans. My veteran squads use Catachan legs and arms with Cadian torsos. I use a mix of Cadian and Catachan heads. That way they still look Cadian but are clearly distinct and look "veteran".
