10 Gorgers make you a bad person and Adam will win because he is handsome and has Dwarfs.

In all seriousness mate, im crapping myself when you whip out that Bull phalanx

can't you only have 4 of the same special at 3k?

Gott in Himmel, that's an interesting list. My first thought is that Cannon, Bolt Thrower, and War Machine fire is going to be super scary with Ogre blocks that large. Even with the Gorgers hunting them down in the later rounds, you could eat massive damage from them in the first.

Additionally, even with a Lvl 4 in Skrag, I might worry about how the new Magic Phase might wreak havok on big, expensive blocks like that.

Finally, I think you're interpretting the effect of 8th Ed comp rules on Gorgers incorrectly. Skrag allows Gorgers to be taken as Special, sure. But there are no more Special "choices" in 8th, and regardless of Skrag, the unit size of Gorgers is always 1 model. At 3000 pts, in 8th Ed, you max out at 6 Gorgers.

EDIT: It occurred to me that this list might be for 7th Ed only after I posted. If this is for a 7th Ed game, ignore my warnings about the Gorger limit. Of course, then you'd be better off splitting the Ironguts into 3 units of 3, since you won't be getting any Rank bonus from them.

in an army led by skragg the slaughterer, Gorgers are a special choice, and in addition 2 gorgers may be taken for each special choic(rather than just 1).

this is the wording so i can take 10 or 12....:cheese:

this is the wording so i can take 10 or 12....:cheese:Yes, that is the wording, but once again, you are confusing two distinctly different things: a Choice as opposed to a Unit.

Gorgers are single model units. Skrag's rules let you take 2 units as a single Choice. In Seventh Edition, you were allowed up to 5 Special Choices with no further restriction on Units, in a 3000 pt game. That allowed 5 choices, times 2 units per choice, for a total of 10 Gorger units (and since Gorgers are 1 model units, a max of 10 Gorgers).

However, 8th Edition does away with Choices, and restricts by Units. Now, in a 3000 pt game, you may only take 6 identical Special units. And since Gorgers are a 1 model unit, that restricts us to a maximum of 6 Gorgers.

I think it will be errataed so that 2 for 1 means he can take 12.

I think it will be errataed so that 2 for 1 means he can take 12.That may or may not happpen; but as the rules are currently written, OK players can field a max of 10 Gorgers in 7th Edition, and a max of 6 in 8th Edition.

So far my ogres have been letting me down in 8th. Not because of them mainly, but because of that insane lore of death spell thats basically a vortex grenade. INsane. Look out for that with that huge unit of bulls.

I dont think gorgers can take on too many things in 8th anymore. Ogres still get shot very easily, so even though you can use a ton of gorgers, i think more units of bulls and ironguts is the way to go. good luck with the horde of ogres. let us know how it goes.
