Hello,

Packed away somewhere in my house I have an old game. I'm pretty sure it was made by (or for... or with) Games Workshop. I have no idea where it is at the moment, but I wanted to look it up online and I can't for the life of me remember what it was called. I don't think it's that old (and certainly not collectible), I had it in the 90s.

It was played on a large gaming mat that already had terrain pictured on it and it was all divided up into hexagons (I believe). You could place other hexagons over the top to show traps etc.

The models were all whole plastic units, I remember things like Chaos Warriors etc. It also came with a plastic tower.

Does anyone have any idea what it was called?

Thanks,
David.

Hexagons???

I remember Dungeon Quest, but I don't recall it having CHaos Warriors, or hexes... Heroquest was a board games...

The hexes are confuzzling me slightly...

I know the game because I had it. Can't think of the name. It was divided into hexagons and models were 5 to a base.

My Google-fu seems strong today- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_Masters

Ah yes, that's the one! Thank you :D I would never have remembered that name :p

Yep, the hexagons were like the spaces on a board, you move from one to the other.

Definitely Battle Masters. I still had 2 sets up until last winter. My brother and I xpanded the card-based unit activation into a normal deck and wrote lists for all the ten-available Warhammer armies. We called it Warhammer Lite and enjoyed a good few afternoons hex-based fun.

I got an incomplete set of that, I have been been painting them here and there.

Lovely game. A bit random and the Empire is better than the bad guys, but together with Hero Quest it made me join the Warhammer crowd. I've still got 3 sets of it (one complete and basically untouched, the minis from the other 2 serve in my DoW army :)).

My friend had it and I must have played it with him but don't remember much of it.

I've still got most of my set - the miniatures and the tower, but the trays and battle mat went years ago.
