View Full Version : Female CSM's

Purplepride

I'm thinking about starting up my second army, and been keen on the idea of a CSM chapter of females.

But how would that fit in fluffwise?

Has there ever been any known female CSM's (or even SM's) or are the battlesisters the closest to female marines that there is?

There are female chaos worshippers, some of them fairly large. I don't see why they couldn't have scavenged some power armour making them, if not real marines, at least pseudo CSM.

you dont get female space marines and just mentioning them on here can get you...........Is that a wall of flame heading this way!!!!!

you could do sisters that have turned but its not very common as sisters are very very devoted to the emporer.

There are no known examples of female Spacemarines and/ or Chaosmarines.
Of course, you can always say that a wiza...erm, the warp did it.
Just, please, for all this is corrupt and unholy, don't make them look like they are straight out of some low budget porn movie :)

The creation of a Space Marines or in this case a Chaos Space Marine requires that the person be male, for he zygotes are keyed to male hormones and tissue types.

yeah, can the OP roll out his/her ideas a bit further?

short answers to short question are short:

No female marines = no female chaos marines

Bile did it, possibly intentionally, possibly just short of the right type of slave at the time.

Fallen/corrupt sisters. It's possible

Ok theres a couple of ways you can go about this:

Slaanesh did it: not true females but he/she/it does have that whole hermaphrodite thing going on

Prayer gangs: as we all know the worlds in the Eye of Terror are full of worshippers who live their entire lives dedicated to worshipping Chaos and doing all kinds of nasty things to please the Gods, we also know the CSMs recruit from these worlds so its entirely possible that they round up a few females as well

anyways, @the OP; i woud suggest corrupted SoB, possibly because they got lost in the warp/on a daemon world. theyre pretty difficult to corrupt, but give them a bad enough situation, and the idea could be countenanced well enough.

Wasn't there a BL book where a female slave of a chaos lord took up his armor und became the new lord herself?
Of course it is true that you need to be male to become a Space Marine but who wants to tell Slaanesh that he can't mutate some women so they can use power armour?
I think female CSM are far more probalbe than loyal female SM, so why not.

Oi warseer has some stupid gits in this forum. Chaos Space Marines have daemonculabas that flash breed marines, and they live in the warp that mutates damn near everything it touches. One of their patrons is a transgendered god(des) who loves pleasure and pain.

Of course there are female chaos space marines.

@Carras,

your think of SoI were she was possessed by the armour of Kroeger, take not that more in likely in this case it was mainly down to the possessed that she was able to fight like a csm.

I don't think Slaanesh will bother to enable a follower to fit power armour, if a chaos god is gonna bless you to become powerfull it's just gonna be deamon prince full on and at that point you no longer require power armour.

We all know that you cannot modify a female's body into that of a Space Marine through traditional means but the Chaos Gods often provide gifts such as gains in stature which could obviously happen to a female. So while she wouldn't be a Space Marine in the traditional sense she would be large and strong enough to wear power armour.

perfectly true. but that's still not a Female Chaos Space Marine, per se, wouldn't you agree? that would be something rather different, just as an inquisitor in power armour is not a space marine by any stretch of the imagination.

Apart from the influences of the warp, gifts/mutations from the gods, the work of Fabious Bile there is an other option.
The dark mechanicum, they can research everything they want and aren't shackles by the conservative laws of the imperium. It is not inconceivable they found a way to actually make female space marines.
If you keep it realistic* the end result would be practically the same as a male space marine, all the implants+hormones+training should result in a though masculine warrior (think cold war era female athletes using to much testosterone).

*ofc realism and 40k don't match so feel free to go for the rule of cool and give them boobies, small waist and makeup. ;)

Although it is possible to redirect the code to target female tissue and/or zygotes, how would you fit all the organs in? I can't see how you could fit another lung, heart, and various other organs into a female body, that is unless she is the size of an Ogryn. I am sure that would not work out with the other people who want them to wear erotic armor or show bare skin.

Iuris
03-07-2010, 18:01
I'm sure there are plenty of Chaos space marines (originally of the male persuasion) and worshippers (of any gender persuasion) that wish it HADN'T been possible in their case.

IE: the traditional way, no, you can't get female CSM. But Chaos has plenty of... creative ways to get around minor problems like gender...

There is one Sister of Battle that became a Chaos follower. Miriael Sabathiel, became one of Slaanesh's greatest warriors. Add in what Fabious Bile and some Darkmech can do and Bam. Chaos Sisters, juiced up by Bile with a CSM statline.

Hell have no fury as a woman scorned. Especialy one that trained in hell with added organs and size/strength.

Oh boy, this thread again. There are two accepted answers to this.

Answer 1. This is impossible, but who cares, its you army. Green stuff awful looking boobs onto your marines, go to your LGS, and watch the neckbeards rage.

Answer 2. This is impossible AND stupid. All the hormonal changes that involve becoming a space marine, especially the massive increases in testosterone necessary for muscle growth would turn a woman into something pretty close to a man. This is the beginning of what a female space marine would look like:

http://www.mensfitness.com/images/mf/209625/13428.jpg

Except a foot taller, with another 100 pounds of muscle, maybe more, no boobs, and some facial hair. After that, she would then put on Astartes style power armor, made for males since female versions don't exist, and be functionally indistinguishable from a male space marine other than maybe height and more delicate facial features.

Answer 1 means completely ignore the fluff and do what you want. Frankly, this is the better answer. Its a game, they're your models, do what you want to do. Answer 2 means that you can try to fit your army into the fluff, do whatever mental gymnastics are necessary to justify it, and then wind up with models that are identical to male marines because fluff and "real" biology dictate that a female space marine would essentially be male. In other words, the whole exercise is a big waste of time.

The process is still the same. If anything, the Bile modifications make implantees even more monstrous and muscle-bound. Marines are supposed to be towering mounds of muscle and bone wrapped in nigh impenetrable armor. Any process which produces something that isn't that would be kind of a waste of time and resources.

While normal Sm it would be unthinkable. There are ways of making it happen in chaos SMs. So the thought is not invalid. But as perviously stated a female CSM would not look like a normal female. I don't think that's the issue though. If the OP wanted to use SoB models in his chaos army and have them count as CSM that's fine. There is even a few ways this can happen in the fluff. Or even if he used normal CSM models with female heads would work too and be more like the actualy outcome of make them.

DarthMcBob

There's an easy fluff justification for female CSMs. Just say that Tzeentch mutated the gene-seed to be compatible with females as part of his 15 quadrillion year plan to trick Khorne into buying him a cheeseburger. Problem solved. :D

Under normal circumstances I would agree with this whole-heartedly.

However, when it comes down to Chaos related things (such as the hypothetical female-CSM) "Chaos Did It" tends to seem a touch more appropriate;)

theJ
03-07-2010, 22:06
"Chaos did it" might work for a single character (who will still look like a male), but making a warband out of it? Sorry mate, that's just not gonna happen.

As for an army of fallen sororitas.... take a closer look on that story about the fallen sister. It quite clearly states that she is the ONLY sister to have ever fallen to chaos, so unless you intend to contradict GW fluff.....

Frankly, if the OP wants chicks in power armour, the best option would be to start a sisters army. Another option would be to create an entirely new army (containing chicks in power armour) who, for the sake of balance, uses the CSM rules.

I've seen several Slaanesh Marines with armour modified for a single breast, in true imitation of their lord. I would surprise me immensely if at least a few Emperor's Children didn't become transgendered in their quest for perfection - even just physically.

I do agree with Green's theory that after the transformation into a Marine, a woman is not going to look female. I mean, if it wasn't for the fact that size and muscularity are masculine traits, they'd barely look male. But in terms of CSM background - where renegades and traitors are reinforced with psychopaths, criminals, cultists and vat-grown monsters - I'd definitely have a few females on the books. Chaos Marines aren't necessarily gene-seeded or made in the same way as loyalists; potentially, any human skilled, tough and insane enough could simply be given an injection of Dark AdMech growth cocktail and slung in a coma pod. If he or she survives, they're given power armour and a bolter, filled full of combat drugs and told to go play. It's basically what the Space Wolves do with the Blood Claws, just more fun.

Although it is possible to redirect the code to target female tissue and/or zygotes, how would you fit all the organs in? I can't see how you could fit another lung, heart, and various other organs into a female body, that is unless she is the size of an Ogryn.

To be fair, there is no way in hell all that stuff is going to fit into a male body, either. We're not really built with room to spare - the closest thing to this would be late-stage pregnancy, which is usually extremely obvious. If you can change a man into the post-human monster that is a Space Marine, there is no reason why you can't do it to a woman (except when the magic wizard-science is given a hard and fast no-chicks rule by it's writers).

Females gifted by the Chaos gods to be killing machines, yes. Actual Female Space Marines, who actually go through all the space marine implants, chaosified or not, pure and utter heresy to what we know and love as 40K.

There are no female space marines, but there's nothing stopping you from having true bolter b*tches, who the chaos gods/ Fabius Bile/ Dark Mechaninum turned into something as powerful as a space marine, but with breasts and magical armour that covers less, but is just as effective.

Well if you want chaos space marines that are female it will be wholly fluff because there would be no distinguishing differences. However if you want "Female Chaos Space Marines" that look like women use the sororitas models. The "Only one Sister Fell to Chaos" thing is stupid. Chaos is better then they are. There have been more psychic blanks who have fallen to chaos. I can't name any and neither will GW, but be sure it happened somewhere.

If that were truly the case they'd be on par with grey knights at 0, which seems preposterous. In reality they're a Ministorum supplied all female variant of the Storm Trooper Corps. Even the reknowned Space Wolves who are known for their Canis Helix which tends to wulfen them rather then let them get mutated by chaos (because werewolves clearly aren't demonic sorcery, just watch twilight...) still have multiple chaos warbands made up of their former members.

Well, the default isn't necesarily that literally anything can happen due to chaos, so you'd have to prove that the possibiliy exists. If anything can happen then chaos could have produced a Mega Doomer that could defeat the entirety of the Imperium using nothing but its Veins, driven by a fellow called Pustulio.

Thus, chaos does not make ANYTHING possible, simply because EVERYTHING has yet to happen. That's what happens when you argue absolutes.

Anyway, the original question depends on one very important thing:

Do they have to be SPACE MARINES (TM) or can they be space marines?

Those people that argue for female marines aren't satisfied with black op genotech illegal Mechanicum creations, or non imperial hypertech human federations with mixed gender supersoldiers, no for them they must be SPACE MARINES, descended from primarchs, built by the Emperor, Angels of Death.

It doesn't matter if they are equal to or better than one of the above, if they aren't a LITERAL Space Marine then it's not good enough.

So my question again is, do they have to be SPACE MARINES?

There is a novel example of a female warrior putting on possessed Khornate power armour and being empowered by Khorne. Was she a space marine? No, she had none of the extra organs or geneseed. Was she the equal or superior to a space marine? Undoubtedly, but being better is apparently 'not good enough'.

I have no doubt that Bile has been performing all sorts of experiments; whether he was able to modify the Emperor's template to fit females or not is a question we do not know, but it's possible.

So female SPACE MARINES? No. Female space marines? Perhaps.

Female chaos SPACE MARINES? Perhaps. Female chaos space marines? Sure.

But until the struggle is won and there are Daughters of Dorn, Bitches of Russ, Equestrians of Khan, or Fangirls of Sanguinius, it won't be enough.:eyebrows:

On Nid marines, Genestealer Cult. As to the OP, I think the best answers in here have been the female powerlifter example for look if it could happen, which it can't.
Bile makes some sense as a possible sidedoor, (and would be a great plot to gain an advantage over loyalist marines, as CSM's could grab recruits from the other 50% of the population.)
Plus of course the old a Daemon did it line, which would most likely give the corrupt Sister look. Or I'm up for a good case of T&A please, which is often the reason for these modifications.

What I meant by my original post, was if it was possible to insert the geneseed into females - and that question has been answered many times over - thanks for all the replies.

It's not... he did that once. He found out slaneesh isn't actually a "she"

Hence the burning hatred between the two. Seriously, you wouldn't believe the names two half naked and obviously embarrassed Chaos Gods could call each other... Tzeentch and Nurgle overheard them... since then, one became insane, the other became depressive...

Tzeentch and Nurgle went on a date once - they met on the internet. Nurgle used a really old photo of him when he was thinner and still had hair and it didn't go down at all well. Then he started comfort eating and ringing Tzeentch up late at night and breathing down the phone and it went downhill from there. Tzeentch got all paranoid and figured it was a conspiracy and we all know how that turned out.
