Who is Sten?

You need to play Dragon Age: Origins (I recommend the PC version)

the Eye of the gods table should let you still... unless i missed something in the errata. That is the only instance that comes to mind right now.

Oldbloods and juggerlords can stay at home this edition.

Well, Oldbloods have a place as a second lord but that is more a statement about Slann than Oldbloods. 4+ Scaly plus Heavy Armor and Shield means that you get your 1+ save and can put your magic items into Wards, MR, Regen or hitting power.

There are a couple of builds I can imagine for a Juggerlord as well although I am not sure they are optimal and they are certainly not fluffy (e.g. trading in his Chaos Armor for Armour of Destiny for the Ward or running him with Chaos Armor, Jugger and GW).

Yes, of course, as long as your AB provides an exception to the general rule.

I think you missed the part on the eye of the gods table that says it'll only improve it up to 1+.

you could always take the heavy armour and 4+ ward save instead of chaos- then there is a point to it

I'm sure there are a few different ways that a model might try to achieve better than a 1+ armor save, but then there's the third paragraph of page 43 that says (not quoting directly), "No, you can't get better than 1+, ever, and a roll of a 1 is always going to fail as an armor save."

I think it's a bit weird that they would cap armour saves at 1+ while you can get armour save modifiers better than -6, especially with the "natural 1's always fail" clause.

...it says 0+ in my warriors book. does it say +1 in the errata, or are you just mistaken?

Oh, my bad then. I got that one wrong then :D

So yeah, that should override the main book as being a more specific rule.

Yeah, it said 0+ in the Eye of the Gods table when I checked, too. Bah. *grin*

Re: Oldbloods, bump a lot of that, Armor of Destiny and a shield gets you 1+ with a 4+ ward and a good many points left to blow, or the Glittering Scales, Cold One, and a Great Weapon gets you the 1+ with -1 to be hit and a boatload of S7 attacks... etc. etc.

It would have been a bit extreme for Oldbloods to have access to heavy armor without the 1+ cap, I think. (For those not in the know, Oldbloods can't normally take heavy armor, only light, due to the natural 4+ scaly skin; access to heavy armor in the common magic items is a huge boost.)
