Is it true now that if a single man sized model is killed and he either breaks within six inches is killed within 6 inches or runs through your unit (say a horde of 50 models) you that you have to take a panic test? That is ******* ridiculous. Bring back unit strength!! WTH?

No such thing exists anymore.

There's no such thing as unit strength in 8th. A single model can cause panic in all of those situations.

The last remaining guy from a unit running past screaming is just as worrying as five of them legging it :P

Fanatics will be less likely to be used in Night Goblin units because of this rule. And I was really hoping to play Night Goblins with fanatics everywhere!

personally Im glad of this: despite GWS attempt to make everyone Immune to psychology and LD10 there is still a small element of c&c.

If there were 5 people left from a unit of 30, I'd be less worried than if there was only 1 left ;)

I 100% agree. I always hatted when I would kill a unit to under unit strength five and then they would flee through three other units. What your guys are not afraid because they saw me kill MORE of your friends? The old way was dumb.

What the man said.

The only other scenario is a lone character fleeing, but then if you saw the baddest dude in your army running as fast as his legs could carry him and screaming like a girl then that would be cause for concern also.

Remember that you now reroll these tests if in range of the BSB, so it shouldn't be that bad.

I've never heard an Empire Engineer being referred to as the "baddest dude"...

On plus side, small units tend to have narrow frontages and thus they are less likely to run through friendly units. Less than bigger units, that is.
