View Full Version : Vote for the next FW IA Expansion!

Not officially of course, but I wanted to see which army players would like to see FW focus on in the immediate future. Cast all votes for sub-armies under their general group; if you want FW to come out with Athonian Tunnel Rats, for example, vote under Imperial Guard, then feel free to specify in your post. Due to poll limitations, all Inquisition armies will be lumped together, as will Chaos Space Marines and Daemons, and all Space Marine armies; sadly, "other" armies will have to specify in a post rather than voting (sorry, Adeptus Mechanicus enthusiasts).

In addition, which one (ONE!) 40k model, unit, or accessory pack would you like FW to produce in the future? FW has always done a spectacular job of "filling in the gaps" of the main GW line, so to speak, so let your voice be heard, and who knows...In The Grim Darkness of the Far Future, your model may be produced.

Crons need love too. At least some sort of Titan-esque walker unit that I can stare at for weeks at a time because I will never be able to afford it.

I voted necron (since Khorne has been well served already!) and would love to see a Necron vs Admech book, imagine how awesome it could be?!

I voted Tau, since there wasn't a distinct Space Wolves option. :)

Well, we could always use more Imperial Guard IA stuff :D

That said, I'd like to see some Eldar/DE material, and most definitely Tzeentch and Slaanesh Chaos stuff.

Necrons necrons necrons. Maybe some Immortals that look like the ones in Dawn of War. Or Pariahs that look more like the illustrations in the codex. Or some super-heavy awesomeness. Even Monolith variations would be cool to see.

This is easy.

ANYTHING but more space marines. No space marines, yup you heard it here. Also considering the MASSIVE coverage Imperial Guard got during Vraks No more IG for a change.

The races with the LEAST coverage should get this one. Since Dark Eldar are coming out in Nov. the next Imperial Armour should feature them to take advantage of all the new Dark Eldar players and seriously DE had NOTHING for a decade, Forge World should take pity and give them some models.

If not, then Necrons for the same reason as above and then probably Inquisition or Eldar.

But yes no more Imperial Guard (and I'm a Guard player) and definitely no Space Marines.

Necrons or dark eldar would be nice. and if guard, tanith and blood pact :D

Well admech would be my primary wish but since thats not going to happen... Cron and Dark Eldar

I definately agree that it should be DE or Necrons. I voted Crons since they are my main.

Dark Eldar, Grey Knights, and Crons are all getting love from GW coming up, so wait for them to be updated before FW takes a crack at them.

I'd love Ad Mech, especially Knights, or at least another round of weapon options for the reaver (Volcano Cannon and Turbolasers/Plasma for the Carapace maybe?)

Elysians could use a few more things, like some characters, commissars, and some more poses of troops.

I voted Eldar, since they have the Phantom/Warlock titan in work, and could use some Exodite love.

Personally, I'd like to see a revival of the Lost and the Damned list from Codex: Eye of Terror. That's the Chaos army I'd really like to play - a gribbly mix of Traitors and Mutants with a sprinkling of CSMs lording it over the riffraff. Wasn't sure whether IG or CSMs would be more appropriate, so I went with IG.

I voted Eldar. I would of voted Necron but I think they need to update the Codex first, may give them a few more options to werk with.

I was temped to say Tau but we have already gotten much FW love and a new commander in the werks.

I second AdMech vs Necrons.
That could be awesome!

I was going to vote Dark Eldar - it has been cold and lonely in the Dark City.

Then I remembered the poor old Necron.

What's the attraction of Ad Mech may I ask?

marv335
07-08-2010, 09:19
It's a natural pair up.
Plus you've got to think of the potential for cool constructs on both sides.

So for Ad Mech it's a bit of cyborgs and a bit of giant killer robots served in a Gothic Techno style?

(I'm not having a pop at Ad Mech. It just doesn't appeal to me so I'm intrigued.)

Thanks, Marv

Skitarii
Tech guard
Electro priests
War constructs
Combat servitors
Tech priests
that's just off the top of my head for AdMech.

We have the Necron incursion on Mars as a basis for the book, with the ongoing rumor that the machine god is one of the C'Tan.
for the Necrons we could have cultists, more vehicles such as the Obelisk or the Harvester, new Lords, better looking flayed ones etc.
Also, Titan sized C'tan/new AdMech titans.

It's something that I think would sell well, and has a lot of theme potential, which seems to be the most important thing for FW these days.
They write a good campaign, with interesting opponents.
If they really had to, they could incorporate Iron Hands into it as well.

What intrigues me about ad-mech figs would be the potential for conversions in the pieces. Properly done ad-mech figs could provide bionics bits for all the imperial and CSM armies as well as Tau and would have cross-over use with necrons.

Necron vs Ad-Mech would be a great match up, but FW would never do something actually set on Mars. The IA plots are all entirely FW created and set on brand new areas of fluff so that they won't contradict any GW products.

A tomb world discovered by an ad-mech explorator fleet would work though. Half the ad-mech forces switch sides and the remaining loyalists have to call for reinforcements. The Mechanicum doesn't want it known that some of their forces can wholesale turn traitor for the necrons and wants to keep it quite so they have to send their own reinfocements. Inevitably though the conflict escalates and they have to call in some favors from a Space Marine chapter with strong ties to the mechanicum to get some assistance.

Thousand Sons, more Tzeentchy stuff, and some more Inquisition stuff, Grey Knight Grand Masters, maybe a few more inquisitors (FW ones do look nice) maybe an Inquisitorial warband in Thunder armour, some love for the sisters maybe?

I would for sure say Necrons, they've only got one avaliable item from FW and in my honest opinion it looks like a giant aerial so they can beam in some new TV channels.

Some monolith variants, plastic immortals, terrain and maybe new units to fit the whoe 'slow and ponderous' kind of theme. Like say a hovering obalisk, flying statue or some sort.

I will also put my vote in for Necrons, simply because they have the most boring range of units currently in 40K. I would love to see more, maybe some variant monoliths which specialise in teleporting Necrons around.

Actually, a combined AdMech and Necron expansion would be a good idea.

Necrons are really starved for variety at the moment. The could stand to get some shiny new units, shiny new models for existing units, and carry on the grand old Forgeworld tradition of getting quickly superseded by a core GW release.

Much as I'd like to see some Necron stuff, I think it's highly unlikely until the new Codex comes out (whenever that is).

So I voted for IG. There's a lot of stuff FW could do to fill in the existing lines (Steel Legion, Mordians, Valhallans) like they've already done for the Tallarns.

While it is almost certainly Eldar in the next IA book, as far as I know FW and GW run development separately so GW's schedule has nothing really to do with FW's.

thats not a dream... thats insanity...

it would be cool to do a different black crusade, one between, oh i dunno, 1 and 13, pick a random number... would be kinda cool...

I'd have to say Eldar simply because I'd love to read a more detailed look at how they conduct a war. FW already makes a bunch of good Eldar models but you can never have enough right? Just imagine how awesome a Seer council, or character Wrathlord, etc. would be.

Actually what would be really cool is if FW wrote a book about Eldar vs. Necrons vs. Imperium, I mean that seems like a pretty bog standard story to me. Ancient nemesis go toe to toe on an Imperial Colony, or the Imperium is trying to take an Eldar Maiden world (then maybe we can get some Exodites!) and find out it was Necron Tomb world when their battles accidentally wake up the Necrons.

Obviously Necrons need some love from GW before FW throw in there hat and expand on the army though. IIRC GW is trying to tweek the current fluff on Necrons.

I'd love to see more Sisters of Battle stuff but considering I refuse to shop at FW after they 'forgot' my order and spent close to a full year just to have the ****** thing canceled.

And all I wanted was one set of alternate doors and one set of the Sisters icons.

So really, I couldn't care less about them.

I notice that a lot of people have voted for Necrons.

I'd rather Forge World *didn't* do anything regarding Necrons just yet. If a new codex is comming sometime next year, it would be better if any Forge World units/rules were released post-codex so that rules and points are in line with new rules.

I can think of nothing worse than finally getting loads of cool new toys, only for them to become overcosted/underpowered/not work [as intended] when the GW studio get around to Necrons again a few months later.

I'd love to see Mechanicus stuff generally, the few Mechanicus infantry models that have been knocked out by FW are lovely and to see an entire army of that kind of gorgeousness would be exciting indeed.
That said I'd rather GW give the AM a codex and FW make some pretty models for Slaanesh, Noise Marines in the same vein as the Berzerker and Plague Marine models.
And after looking at the Brass Scorpion and Blood Slaughterer, there's great hope indeed for the Slaanesh constructs of House Devine.

Necron vs Ad Mech for obvious reasons. None of this 'half the skitarii turn traitor' gobbledeegook though; just a straight-up slugfest. Tomb world is explored, Necron wake up. Maybe have innuendo and such, but I never want to hear that silly 'Dragon' stuff out-right again! :p

Agree completely. Space Marines and IG had enough, the races more in need are DE, Inquisition(especially SoB) and Necrons.

I play Tau, but since they did a good work with them, I'm going to vote dark eldars.

Well, aside from the Ad Mech the only major Imperial army left to use is SoB. I'd love for them to get a little bit of action (no pun intended!), other then the few lines of 'They were on Vraks and were either destroyed by the heretics or driven insane and then destroyed by the Inq.:eyebrows:

Well, GW announced that FW would be making the TWC for space wolves, so there is a chance they will throw a bit of SW stuff into an IA for an apoc datasheet. I am thinking it will go alongside that nice lovely new marine transport they just came out with, as well as the new marine armor

I wish the chaos marines and daemons were seperate, but I know you are limited to 10 options. Daemons got some serious love in IA apoc, a GC of each god, the Khorne walker (who was just upstaged by the BA dread...) and the blight drone... ooooh how I want blight drones to be in the next book.

In all fairness, the books *are* called "Imperial Armour". That probably means something Imperial is involved.

If I could retract my Necron vote, I would go for that! :D

However in all seriousness, Necron vs AdMech vs IronHands! Whats not to love in that setup.

Fill out a weak line. - Check
Make a new Imperial Army people have wanted forever - Check
Obligatory Marine inclusion - Check!
