View Full Version : Hellcannon cheaper?

Hey guys! I've been thinking about Warriors of Chaos lately, and think the rules for the Hellcannon are really cool, but I am not a huge fan of the model. I have heard stories of people making some out of plastic, and was curious to see how someone might go about doing that. Keep in mind though money IS an object, and don't want to spend nearly as much as that dreadful thing costs.

Thanks!

A freind of mine converted a regular cannon with daemon bits on it, but with the new edition and line of sight, you would want to make it propped up on a platform of some sort at the very least. What is your budget?

It really depends. I am trying to get it to be used in a growth campaign, but if that's not possible, it is understood. I've been thinking of makeshift things involving a giant holding a BFSP dwarf cannon, as I have both of those bits, but I am not sure how successful that would be. Currently I am 7 USD. If you could not guess, I am a kid. :P

The 'Giant' Leadbelcher idea is cool. Let's see...

First off, for a bog barrel, you could use a cardboard thing inside a Toilet paper roll. You would need something to make it roughly the same size (height and width) to make it the dimensions of the 'official' model, and some crewmen models.

A plastic chariot is probably too small. Since your funds are what they are, there is no point recommending the screaming bell platform, but you can see the angle I am coming at.

You can never underestimte the value of toy shops to finding things that are good for wargames.

That might work

I saw someone's HPA months ago that used that very catapult base for its base.

Cool. Some coincidence, first thing I found when I typed 'toy catapult' into google images.

I'm building my own Hellcannon right now.

You can follow my progress (with some directions as to what I'm making) on my plog here:

Hope this helps!

My Hellcannon ended up reasonably cheap in material costs, but I doubt very many other people own the right combination of bitz to make another. And it took ages to do.

On the upside, mine has built-in lights! :D

Your hellcannon was the inspiration for mine. At least for the barrel. I'm still trying to figure out how to do the carriage.

I'm going to be doing one of these soon. I'm debating a scratch build or a lot of green stuff on a Dwarf Flame cannon.
