The steam tank automatically passes all characteristic tests except for initiative; I suppose that dragontooth arrows should affect it, but it would allows pass the stupidity test.

Stupidity is not a characteristic test though, so the Stank would be affected.

Ld is a characteristic, you test your Ld for Stupidity, you're welcome to argue this, but I doubt many will agree with you ;)

Best way to deal with a STank as wood elves is terrain - of which 8th has a lot thankfully. Massed bowfire and Lore of Beasts :)

Just on a side note the dragonbane arrows requires a wounding hit to cause stupidity. Then the steam tank rules states it passes all characteristic tests that includes leadership tests.

A better choice would be arcane bodkins you still need a 6 to wound the stank but you don't need to worry about its 1+ save.

I play WE as my main army and fortunately it is rare that I encounter the Stank in friendly games. Except for running there is not much we can do about it. Lore of beasts have some options for a lvl4 but none of them are great.

i dont think leadership is a char test as they are taken on 2 dice, char tests are taken on one dice.

also the woc book has a necrotic phylactery which says it passes all char tests except leadership.

its unlikely that it will effect it as it needs a 6 to wound and then it has a 1+ save plus it has leadership 10. dryads tied it up in the last game but id like to destroy it

Khorneflakes: Why would the Necrotic Phylactery need to specifically exclude Leadership tests if they aren't characteristic tests?

Obviously the BRB is incorrect then on pg 10 where it states Leadership tests are not characteristic tests.

1st paragraph.

In the last FAQ the steam tank was changed to a chariot from unique. So i would guess you test on the LD of the Engineer within it. Thats LD 10. So yes you can make it stupid, chance of it failing with LD10 and prolly a BSB close by are slim though.

it states it cos ld tests arent char tests.
