Right i'll kick things off!

Ive been fiddling with my guard army on and off for about three years now without much in the way of completed units to show for it so, it's about time I did something about it!

I have had a go at photographing my progress so far but have only really produced one decent picture despite the almost an hour of effort :(.

Luckily i was sucessful withmy commander mini so it gives you a good feel for the colour scheme. Currently I have two full squads painted up with markings and completely finished, along with various other bits and bobs in various states of semi-completion ranging from needing a few decals to unassembled.

More will follow once I can get this photo taking malarky sorted out (tips please :))

Ooh! Forgeworld Bits. I think that you should post non-finished models, too, so that we can get a glimpse at your work tactica.

This teaser pic looks promising. As far as the camera goes, may sound stupid but make sure it's on macro (the little flower) Try in a more natural light setting, or use a lightbox.

Eagerly awaiting more.

I intend to post my what I'm working on currently minis once I can get pictures sorted don't you worry.

reaper - all the settings were correct i guess its just poor camera use on my part however, do not despair I have procured the use of a tripod and a daylight bulb!

Next up will be my two completed squads and WIP of black platoon's command squad, along with the rest of the company command squad.

Ok here's the images as promised. I know hardly any of this is WIP but don't fret i'm endeavouring to finish what I have here before moving onto anything else. That is when the real work starts I guess!

Loving the guard models Steve, they are looking really ace. What else you got stowed away ready for the army?

Very nice! What colours did you use?

Thanks Joe, I have a hell of alot stowed away as you well know (12 russes 2 baneblades and 120+ guardsmen yet to be revealed amongst others).

Intrepid - The basic colour scheme is codex grey/ fortress grey highlights for the fatigues with shadow grey/ fortress gret highlights for the body armour both including a wash of course. I've managed to get the basic stages not including decals down to about a squad in 2-3 hours depending on how distracted I get by the tv.

Work in progress shots of 3rd squad and the command mortars to follow!

Well, today's update follows a semi-successful painting session whilst trying not to get too engrossed in the Godfather part I so there's only three pictures.

First up a small deviation from my plan as I wanted to get something heavy in points value near completion, my first Leman Russ:

Secondly we have a group shot of everything i'm currently working towards finishing before any painting yesterday:

Finally a close up of the company command squad's mortar still very WIP:

Comments and critique welcome.
