View Full Version : Dwarfs and Common Magic Items

Simple question.

Can dwarfs take magic items from the main rule book?
From the Army book it looks like they can only take runic magic items.
But, if I'm wrong it could open a lot of possibilities.

Thanks in advance.

You are correct , the Dwarf Army Book specifies (like all army books) a units "upgrade" points and where they can spend them. In the case of characters this usually is a list including mundane gear options as well as some type of magical upgrades. Specifically for dwarves, they are allotted points to spend in runic magic items only. They have no "budget" for common magic items.

Simple question with a simple answer: no :(

Dwarves are allowed runic items.
Common items aren't runic, so they aren't allowed them.

On the upside you get a lot more customisability.

I hope that's not you wearing those ridiculous shades in that picture, bro. :)

In the future (not to sound like an ass, just something you'll hear more than once), please try to do atleast vague research throughout the forum before asking a question. This question has been asked countless times.

Once again, not being a jerk, just letting you know!

I did do an advance search and didn't see anything.
I'm new to WFB, as well as 8th edition.
I knew they didn't have common magic items such as scrolls.
But, I was unsure about Magic Carpets, Folding Towers, and what not.....

Thanks for the help guys!

Lol, I may live here but I am in no way, shape or form a "College Station boy." I'm originally from Houston, my mom and little sister live in Dallas, I go to Dallas every chance I get to GET AWAY from CS. :) Besides, I'm a global mutt. Lived in 15 different states in the past 8 years and been in 8 different countries in the past 4 years lol.

Dallas rules, dude. You'll see me at Shirlock's downtown once a month, starting fights and singing Irish songs with my brothers. :D
