I know its not exactly Warhammer but I thought I"d run It by the tribe and see
what they think.

That's very nice!

Are the parts metal ?

you just need to spruce up the legs with gears, pistons and wat nots, it will be very nice..can't wait to see more !~

This looks so cool, though I must ask what the material is too, it does look a tad metallic. Looks like it is going to turn out really well with some details and such.

Looks like its made out of aluminium. Great workmanship, look forward to more.

Well Sheep you called it right, its aluminium just like "My Iron Mistress" on
the Tread Head Thread around page 440 . As a Tool and Die Maker I have some great toys at my disposal. I got the idea looking at the Kugelblitz turret
and imaging it with eyes.

That is so cool, I can so see what you mean about the eyes. If the turret were a little bigger, it would look just right, or maybe if the legs/torso was a tad smaller. Either way, it looks mighty fine.

Yes you would have some cool toys :D Lucky bugger! Looks like a tank thing from ghost in the shell, kind of. Look forward to more mate.

Hey Sheep and Icecream boy
No new pic's at the moment but I will post some more when I can get the camera away from the wife. I have started to add some more detail to the legs
and have started to skin out the body. Hope to post some more pictures in the next few days

Icecream Man I see your point about the turret looking a little small.
I think I may have to come up with something new, will play with it
some more this weekend.

This looks like a really good start!

Care to do some of that for me? only the legs I mean?!?

One could do so many crazy things with those legs, but cutting them from plasticard surely would be a pain in the ****

Hey Lukas
I just wanted to let you know that the legs aren't done yet.
I'm planning to attach some schuzen armor plates to the top edge of
the legs on the three small squares you see.
Also in the works is a drivers section in the front with IR vision gear as this is now going to become a
night tank hunting spider. A new turret is also in the works because the Kubelblitz
turret is a little small and way undergunned. The new one will be a remote
operated rapid fire 88mm with a large IR search light and coax machinegun.
Well it sounds good anyway.

Well I managed to get a fair bit of work done. I just put on 4 of my favorite
black and white sci fi movies and got into my groove.

http://i912.photobucket.com/albums/ac325/markusthetoolbreaker/Spider%20Tank/DSC_1183.jpg

I just have to detail the turret a little more and it's on to paint.
So what do think?

Markus

Now that's a proper-sized gun! I'm not too keen on the searchlight but the dual-mount is good. Maybe there's some way of making the searchlight look more like a targeting array?

The shielding on the legs is also good, makes it look more armoured.

Looks great mate, and the turret is an improvement on the old one, definately more imposeing and to scale with the body.

IJW The turret is still a work in progress. I"m going for a WW II alternative
history look like the models from the Dust comics series. This being a German
walker, it will have some design elements from that period. A large
Infra Red searchlight like the Germans used to engage Russian tanks at night
on the Eastern Front. I R scopes for driving and sighting,an MG42 for coax mount and German markings.

As for a name I'm going to call it an Nachtjagdspinnenpanzer or in english
a night hunting spider tank

HEY D3V!L let my know if my translation is bad

It looks incredible, I really love the new big gun you added :D

IJW
14-10-2010, 09:10
OK, I can see dark red working on the searchlight. The translation is correct, as far as I'm aware.

Well I finally go to get some paint on my spider. I still need to detail paint and
weather it up a bit. Hope you like the way its going so far.

If I didn't know better I'd have sworn that was a stock kit you'd bought.

Fantastic work, very professional finish to it.

Agree with doghouse, thats a very different interesting camo scheme, any basis in reality? or completely made up for sci fi?

I thought you'd be going with a classic german scheme of some kind.

Thanks for the compliments SSG Snuffy and Doghouse, this one just
took on a life of it's own.
Sheep this is the third attempt at a paint scheme ,splinter just looked like too
many angles ,ambush wasn't any better so I came up with this. It seems to
work and the weathering and detail paint is moving along. Pic's soon

You are right. This is not Warhammer. Good thing Warseer and the Project Logs aren't exclusive for Warhammer stuff then! :)

I like it a lot! It reminds me of anime robot series. It definitely took me back to the Front Mission series (videogames). Very nice!

Well I finally finished it. I hope that you find it interesting.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I was thinking that it might be interesting
to shrink it down to about 3/5 of its size and change out the weapons load
on the turret to something more warhammerish. Some type of heavy energy
weapon and a quad launcher of Hellstrike missiles. Then change out the driver
compartment for a set of auto cannons. The only question is who deserves
a machine like this Mech Ad or chaos. Your input is respectfully requested
