View Full Version : Your Favorite New Dark Eldar Miniature So Far?

06-10-2010, 16:55
Of the new Dark Eldar Miniatures so far which do you like best?

I'm torn between the Raider with its sharp curves, the overall styling and the 'hangers on' or the Warriors.

IMHO the best looking Troops in the game. Great character, excellent sculpting. Wonderful figures. My local FLGS has asked me to paint them up for the window and I cannot wait to start on them :D

1st to vote i guess.

I went with the warriors, though the mandrakes are close.

06-10-2010, 17:01
I voted for the Warriors, although I was tempted to vote for the Archon. I still wonder why they used the less cool head option to showcase him ;). Lelith is great, too.

I'm not that sold on the vehicles, they look like they should float slowly, the old ones looked more aggressive and fast, IMHO.

06-10-2010, 17:05
what mandrakes, i havent seen any pics of them

06-10-2010, 17:34
The Reaver jetbike. I can't wait to get my hands on some and start kit-bashing them into Craftworld jetbikes... :D

06-10-2010, 17:38
I voted for the Archon. It's such a sweet and imposing miniature. :)

06-10-2010, 18:58
The mandrakes are simply amazing looking models and got my vote.

Though I do admit I like the whole range I've seen so far, spare the transvestite wych-women.

Pic of the mandrake model.

06-10-2010, 19:19
Lelith will win by a landslide I imagine. Gorgeous model.

06-10-2010, 20:21
But they're all good :)

06-10-2010, 20:27
Gah! Tough call! It was between the Warriors, Incubi and the Mandrakes. But in the end I had to vote on the Warriors :)

06-10-2010, 21:06
Yeesh, close call - Warriors, Mandrakes, or Urien.

Went with the Warriors - easily the best-looking troops in the 40K range.

06-10-2010, 21:39
The new Urien.

Now thats a nice model.

06-10-2010, 22:02
i just love the intersquad diversity of the new wyches

06-10-2010, 22:09
Lelith is a gorgeous model, but I voted for the warriors. For me they set the tone of the whole army, and were the unit i was looking forward to the most.

Still, the entire range is completely gorgeous. GW really hit it out of the park on this one.

I voted for the Reavers, But it was a close call between them and the Warriors. Can't think of any of the models I don't actually love. Urien will be leading my army.

06-10-2010, 22:14
I voted for Urien, I love the whole Hellraiser feel of the army, and Urien looks like he could quite easily be a Cenobite

06-10-2010, 22:35
Voted for the jetbikes. I can see myself giving in and getting dark eldar here.
Mind. Literally. Blown.

I'd have to say Lilith, but i do really like the new warriors.

06-10-2010, 23:20
So tempted to pick up a box.

06-10-2010, 23:34
I'm going with the Raider, It's sail makes it look like and old Chinese Junk boat

In general I like all the new DE models though.

07-10-2010, 01:04
Lelith has to be my personal favorite she is like an evil temptress of death.

07-10-2010, 03:44
Mandrakes, there just gorgoues models. I like all the models except the hellion rider, it just looks bad for some reason.

07-10-2010, 08:28
It was a 3 way tie between mandrakes, incubi, and the reavers. I went with the incubi just because I had to pick one.
But I can't even describe how bad the hellion looks. I've pre ordered the codex and a bunch of other stuff and if the hellions are awsome, I'm gonna buy the old ones off eBay. At least the old ones arent ugly hermaphrodites that have huge catachan mucsles on a thin, lithe eldar frame

07-10-2010, 09:30
As much as I like the new Lelith, Warriors and Incubi, I have to say the Raider.

I really like the sails and shape for the junkboat/trireme look.

07-10-2010, 09:37
Lelith, closely followed by the female Hellion. Nice to know I'm not the only girl strong enough to lift a boy off the ground by their genitals when they feel me up. Though she does look like she could do one in each hand...

Incubi, definately. I think they look suitably menacing and imposing - well suited to their status as elite troops.

07-10-2010, 11:18
Warriors for me, because of the amazing sculpt and the amazing possibilities of the sprues. And Reavers for the same resons.

07-10-2010, 11:22
The mandrakes, absolutely mind-blowing models. Lelith is close behind, but they're in a whole other league.

07-10-2010, 11:25
Lelith! Moar metal models plz

07-10-2010, 12:19
The Raider still looks too small!

07-10-2010, 13:16
For me the raider, It is really a nice progression from the old model.

The warriors are very good, but the raider was the first picture that made me go 'oh wow.'

07-10-2010, 13:33
Voted for Urien, even though Im still wondering about the floating pose.... And uhmm..his former face mask is now surgical self-modification?(The ears are connected and pointy)
The rest isnt my cup of tea.

07-10-2010, 15:14
It was close between Lileth and the mandrakes, but went for the Mandrakes in the end - I just love the style of them!

07-10-2010, 15:23
Incubi, although they were my favorite old models also... so I won't be replacing them for awhile.

08-10-2010, 17:37
The Mandrakes or Reavers would get my vote here - a rare example of recent GW models that actually look good.

The Warriors are alright, if a little lacking (certainly an improvement over the previous ones by a long way, though), Urien is rather good, and Lelith's head (but not the rest) is quite nice. The Incubi are an interesting departure from the old style and I'm undecided on them.

The Raider/Ravager, Hellions, Archon, and Wyches, though, are diabolically bad. Quite why they felt the sleek, menacing design of the Raider needed to be changed to a lumbering space boat (complete with entirely redundant sail) I'm not really sure. The Hellions have no sense of speed at all, the Archon is as goofy as a cartoon villain and the Wyches are dull and ugly.

09-10-2010, 06:04
They're all sexy miniatures. But Urien really rips my heart away since dark eldar would never really take it the normal way. <3

He really reminds me of Dr. Channard (http://www.evilontwolegs.com/uploads/corey/toys1/channard.jpg) from Hell-raiser 2.

09-10-2010, 06:21
Lelith, followed by the bikes.

See, GW can make good looking female models. Now do more of them! Sisters. Commissars. Inquisitors. Guard advisors. Lots of potential.

09-10-2010, 10:42
Looks like a close one between Warriors and Lelith, go Warriors!

09-10-2010, 10:44
Indeed. I thought Lelith would be storming way out in front.

09-10-2010, 12:07
As much as I like the new Lelith, Warriors and Incubi, I have to say the Raider.

I really like the sails and shape for the junkboat/trireme look.

Agreed. The raider and ravager are just really nicely made vehicles. I like how the eldar missile launcher 'pod' was used in the mock up for different parts of the vehicle (like the sail brace and the rail supports).

Although, i voted for the incubi...

09-10-2010, 12:16
I can't decide, they are all so gorgeous ;_;

09-10-2010, 12:27
My favourite models are actually those hanging off the sides of the new Raider :)

09-10-2010, 13:51
I love the reavers, I'm having to resist buying ten boxes of them to max out the FA slots. It is thankfully made easier by the fact Hellions look amazing too.

09-10-2010, 14:03
The Hellions, if we ignore the first one we saw.

09-10-2010, 14:11
I voted Lelith, cause she rocks awesome sauce and I will use her in my army despite rules (though I've heard she is good)

But i'm thinking of basing my Archon off the female that hangs off the side of the raider

09-10-2010, 14:44
The Hellions, if we ignore the first one we saw.

I agree in terms of the standard troops etc.

Had to vote for Urien though.

09-10-2010, 17:13
i had to vote for lilith, even with bear feet

Son of Plunder
10-10-2010, 02:23
Archon, when you give him the plumed head, not the horned!

10-10-2010, 05:52
Urien. It is just so... disturbing.

10-10-2010, 16:48
i had to vote for lilith, even with bear feet

Oh come on, they're not -that- bad!

(sorry, couldn't resist ;))

10-10-2010, 16:57
It is quite a difficult question...there are just no bad DE minis...but there is one, which is unique...I never saw something amazing and disgusting like urien rakarth...the first time I saw his mini I thought a lot of time about it...great work...
