I have had some time to put together a few Bretonnian lists. Some I felt were as competative as I could make them (given my model collection), others were just for fun.

I wanted to share a fun one with you.

Lately I've been making "balanced" lists with a good number of peasants to go along with the knights. It's tough when most of my opponnents' troops are more skilled than my troops but I can do SOME good with numbers. This time I tried going in COMPLETELY the opposite direction. I wanted to see what happened if I made an army that was basically a group of heroic knights leading a contingent of their peers. In a nut shell, it's a shed load of characters on horseback leading nothing but lances of knights.... plus one caster... lol.

All of the lords and heroes stay under their 25% allotment (625 points in 2500)

Without further ado:

Bretonnian Lord (Lord, General)
-Grail Vow (magic attacks, immune to psych, etc.)
-Virtue of Heroism (Heroic Killing Blow)
-The Grail Shield (Lady's Blessing is 4+ ward against any strength attack)
-Mantle of the Damsel Elena (immune to Killing Blow and Poison)
-Lance
-Barded Bretonnian Warhorse

Prophetess of the Lady (Lord, Lore of Life)
-level 4 wizard
-Silver Mirror (dispel scroll that causes S6 hit on opposing caster)
-Bretonnian Warhorse

Paladin (Hero, Battle Standard Bearer)
-Gromril Great Helm (+1 to Armor save and reroll failed saves)
-Sword of Might (+1 S)
-Barded Bretonnian Warhorse

Paladin (Hero)
-Grail Vow (as above)
-Virtue of the Joust (reroll missed attacks on charge with lance)
-Cuirass of Fortune (5+ armor, replaces heavy armor, reroll 1s to wound)
-Lance
-Shield
-Barded Bretonnian Warhorse

Paladin (Hero)
-Questing Vow (reroll Fear and Terror, cannot use lances)
-Sword of the Quest (hand weapon/greatweapon, no armor saves allowed)
-Shield
-Barded Bretonnian Warhorse

Paladin (Hero)
-Grail Vow (as above)
-Virtue of Knigtly temper (gain additional attack per wound caused)
-Potion of Strength (one use, gain +3 strength for one turn)
-Lance
-Shield
-Barded Bretonnian Warhorse

14 Knights of the Realm (core) BSB joins
-Full command

14 Knights of the Realm (core) Joust Paladin joins
-Full command

6 Knights Errant (core) Knightly temper Paladin joins
-Full command

8 Questing Knights (special) Questing Paladin joins
-Full command

7 Grail Knights (rare) General and Prophetess join
-Full command

TOTAL: 2496 points

The idea here is basically charge forward quickly, double up or triple up on units when/if I charge and just duke it out with the enemy in close combat. No real strategy here, wind them up and let them go. It has a crazy low model count (only 55 models!). I'm not trying to win, only to see how much damage I can do to the enemy before attrition tables me. Looks like it'll be fun. It's relatively fast, but can easily get out-manuevered. Especially if my charges get stopped cold; A distinct possibility.

What do you think?

You might want to get some flaming attacks in the list somewhere

Running a similar list- but with PEG Knights and some mounted yoemen.

yea, you need peg knights for sure. they will add alot of manuverability and tactical flexibility. I would drop the questing vow and grail vows on your paladins in order to get the points. I would also give your lord some sort of magical weapon to give him staying power in combats that last more than one round. the +3 attack sword on him might be good, since your going for killing blow attacks it seems, so extra attacks are always nice.

Seems like a really fun list, i run (well, ran) an all knight list and it was deadly, though i didnt have quite so many heroes. good luck with it.

You should prob put this in army list section.
