View Full Version : Models for Elven civilians?

As the title suggests, I'm currently in need of unarmed & unarmored Elves, preferably of both genders, for a scenario I'm cooking up.

Would anyone happen to know if some company crafts such figures or at least ones I could convert to being helpless elven arrow fodder with sufficient ease?

Decent civilian models are hard to come by. Clipping the weapons off some wood elves might suffice though.

Aye, that's a idea I've been toying with, but I had this faint glimmer of hope that there'd actually be something more suitable. :D

well if it could be a bit more expansive, the Cirdan and Celeborn modles looks quite civilian to me
and a sentinel playing a music instument could work as well maybe?

Cirdan - quite possibly the most boring-looking miniature ever sculpted.

Hadn't thought about the sentinels, they might actually work. Thanks!

Cirdan - quite possibly the most boring-looking miniature ever sculpted.

Come now, every time I play against a force fielding him I can't help but to be slightly unnerved. He simply looks so very bored by the bloodbath happening around him, as if it is entirely meaningless to him.

Even when my Uruks manage to cut him down, he just has that same look on his face... :shifty:

In terms of existing models in the Citadel LotR range that would require no modification:

Celeborn
Galadriel
Elrond (newer)
Cirdan
Goldberry

A new coat of paint should set them apart from the original characters.

Otherwise, as mentioned above, some of the plastic wood elves with weapons clipped off would probably do the trick (there's one running with a bow and arm raised - sans bow he'd make a great fleeing elven peasant!).

Additionally, certain elven characters like Arwen, unarmored Haldir, Glorfindel, or the Monkey Twins could make decent elven citizens with their weapons removed, although the poses might look a bit awkward on some. Malbeth the Seer with a head swap could make a good elven civilian as well.

Failing that, you could look into some historical manufacturers and look for medieval/dark ages/ancient citizen packs. The trouble with these models is that often times "civilians" are a bit more rotund than their warrior counterparts, which is less befitting of elves.

Anyways, here are a few links:

Foundry makes a ton of minis, it's definitely worth browsing through their online store. They're on the higher end of the price scale, though.

how about just using wood elve models? just pretend that they do not have weapons? =/, or you could always use hobbits.

Whitwort, thanks a dozen for those links, all that stuff is going to be very handy!

I believe I spotted the guy you mean, and now I have a urge to model him as unarmed and with his cloak on fire. :p
