Hello all,
I've just posted some pictures of an old Eldar force thats been knocking about in my loft for abouts 10years. I recently found them again...so decided that the time was right to start a new project.

The oldest model so far dates back to 1987. I'm looking for dates and backgrounds to the other miniatures.

Pictures can be found here (http://shadesofchaosuk.blogspot.com).

Nice looking army, those fire dragons look really good.

Maybe this should be in the project logs section though, I'm not sure what there is to discuss about the classic eldar range, other than the fact that they look good.

Bloody hell, five harlequin jetbikes! I'm still trying to find *one* :)

Excellent stuff. Pretty much the last eldar army i bought and painted was from that era. I stupidly gave it away to a friend who wanted to get back into 40k andit was never seen again. I did ask him a month or two ago if he stil had it and whether i could blag some of the ghost warriors and wraithlords back out of it if he wasnt using it but he 'coudlnt find it' - which i pretty well took to mean 'i sold it' :)

There are plenty on ebay.

Not recently unless ones gone up in the last day. I tend to check for RT stuff on ebay very regularly as you can imagine given my ongoing RT project... :)

ah here...

I also dont take into accounts auctions with silly prices.

Well, I get informed about each new Rogue Trader Eldar item each day via eMail :p
I can tell you, they are up often. I also bought a lot of the old Space Elves. I'm still missing one to complete a work for GD 2012 though.

Which one are you missing. I've got all the initial release and have a couple of spares I might have the one you want.

I only have a couple of the command squad so cant help you there though.

oh and what's the average going rate for a Harlequin jet bike with rider, i'd have thought 10 to be closer the mark than 20 but i could be wrong?

Well, the instant-sells cost much more than you can get via bidding. 10GBP can be done if you buy 'em in a pack of multiples, but not too easy.
I'm looking for Sergeant Mael Nightwing (http://www.collecting-citadel-miniatures.com/wiki/index.php/Image:RT-1987-02.jpg). :eyebrows:

There are various sources on the internet which can help you with this. In addition to Hendarion's link, you could also try Sole Legends (http://www.solegends.com/citadel/index.htm), which has a comprehensive list of Citadel miniatures and catalogues.

You may also want to see if you can get hold of the Eldar and Dark Eldar collectors' guide, which includes a comprehensive list of all Eldar models from second and third edition, along with some, but not all, of the Rogue Trader models.

Some general dates:

Old metal Guardians, Ghost Warriors, and other Rogue Trader models are from the late 1980s (1987 being the start date), while the original Rangers, most Warlocks, the first Farseer, the small Avatar, and the original Aspect Warriors are from 1990.

I hope that you find this information of some help.

Great models. Not much to add. Previous posts should point you in the right direction. 2nd edition guardians were dated from 1990 I think. The ones which took the plastic arms and weapons. There were a few others as well but they are all recognisably different to the original RT guardian releases. Still they looked pretty sweet with all that chainmail.

You won't find anything older than that as Rogue Trader came out in the Autumn of '87. There are a few models that came out before the game but no Eldar, just a lone Dark Elf Space Trooper.

Gah, I thought I'd finished filling in the rest of the gaps in the CCM wiki for the RT Eldar collector's guide. :( You can expect to see the rest of the blank spaces filled up with blue-background photos in the new year. ;)
