Just checking if this was right.

Opponent put the hellcannon right up on his deployment edge and made it run at me as fast as it could to get into combat. He got to march 12" and made it to me pretty fast

Later I notice the hellcannon has M(6) but the dwarves have M(3).

I know handlers aren't really there for most things as far as shooting/combat, but does the rule of "a unit has to move at the movement value of its slowest member" apply to this situation?

I believe this is thought of as all, except wound allocation, their leadership and fighting in combat.
