My friend's having trouble deciding which version of Faramir to buy to go with his Warriors of Minas Tirith. He's thinking of getting the one in Gondorian armor since it would blend with his formation but he also prefers the pose and likeness of the Ranger version.

Which Faramir would you guys get?

This one appears to only be a mounted version (WHY???) and when it came out was widely criticized for being ugly, so I wouldn't get this one.

This one doesn't come with a mounted version, so problematic if he is to occupy a formation of knights but I think it is the best looking one and you do get another hero with him. This is the one I would get.

This one has both foot and mounted versions but IMO doesn't look much like Faramir but could be a convenient middle ground.

He goes great with a knight company hes got a shield (finally) for god sake.

In my opinion best looking model out of them all

@ForgottenLore: We saw the new Faramir and I agree with you, it's not exactly what Faramir looked like back then. (Unless this one's 4th age Faramir?)

Yeah, we think the Ranger version does look screen-accurate compared to the one in armor. Especially since the armored one has that goofy grin on when he was supposed to be riding to his death. But then he's worried that the Ranger version might stand out too much in a formation of Minas Tirith Warriors.

Has anyone painted these models before? Which one resembled the actor the most?
Any other suggestions would be great!

Hi Valvatos, I personally prefer the last one, which looks like his armour in the movie and even his princely getup at the end, and that is the one I use. I am no great painter though, so he works for me at table distance and I'd never look close enough to see his facial expression! :)

I think the Ranger armoured one is appropriate for any time when his command was of the Rangers, whether or not he is personally leading other troops at that time - think for example the scenes where Osgiliath falls again.

The mounted-only one looks great - it just doesn't look like What's-His-Face from the films. You know, dude from "300"... Gahh, can't think right now. MAN, these guys get typecast, don't they?

That said, I always buy foot-and-mounted blisters where possible.

i would get the armored gondor version because it comes both on foot and mounted. having both can be useful in WotR.

in addition, since armor does not affect movement in SBG, why not an extra defense?
