View Full Version : Detatchments size for disrupting?

Gents,

In the BRB it says that disrupting units must have two or more ranks of 5 models (so minimum 10) in flank or rear of target unit to negate that units rank bonus.
In the empire armybook it is written that detatchments negate the rank bonus if their unit strength is 5 models.
I've looked at both BRB and Empire armybook FAQ updates but can't see that this is adressed.

So is this a special rule for empire detachments or is the size of 5 simply a leftover from 7th edition charge rules?

Thanks in advance.

Snarky answer: "Using the 8th edition rules, what is your detachment's unit strength?"

Helpful answer: It's a hold-over from 7th edition. The rules for unit strength have not been included in the 8th edition rules. As such, any army book special rules regarding unit strength are meaningless.

Unit strength no longer exists.
So you'll have to have 2 or more ranks of 5+ models.

Thanks to both of you for clearing that up.
